Introducing Farer’s New Monopusher GMT Cobb & Segrave
Farer has just added the complication of a second-time zone to its monopusher chronograph, bringing two new watches to the collection.
The new Farer Monopusher GMT Cobb and Segrave, as the name suggests, are very similar to the Cobb Pulsometer Monopusher and the Segrave Monopusher Chronograph, both from 2021, featuring the same colour scheme on the dial although with different arrangements.
Starting with the Cobb, it maintains the same ice-blue sunburst dial, travelling the white-yellow 30-minute counter and date window at 90º backwards to 12 and 3 o’clock respectively and holding the white running seconds at 9 o’clock. The previous Arabic numerals are now replaced by baton hour markers that, like the hands, are filled with luminescent material and the previous pulsometer ring gives way to a 24-hour scale that works in partnership with the extra GMT central hand.
The new Segrave comes with a black sand-blasted dial that, like the Cobb, comes with registers (here both and not just the 30-minute one) and a date window delayed by 90º, now all with a black background, and with the previous tachymetric scale banned and in its place rise a bicolour 24-hour ring supported by an orange GMT pointer.
On the outside, we once again find the 41mm cushion-shaped stainless steel case with a brushed finish surface and knurled sides, smooth polished bezel, sapphire crystal, crown at 3 o’clock with a rose gold cap and next to it a pusher at 2 o’clock, screwed open case back and 100m waterproof.
The new timepieces come equipped with the hand-wound movements Sellita SW530 M MP in the Cobb and Sellita SW536 M MP in the Segrave, which are the same and only come with the counters in different positions, running at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 62 hours of power reserve.
The watches offer different strap options in rubber, leather and steel with prices starting at €2,345.
