Inside The New Swatch × Guggenheim Collection
Swatch continues its long-standing dialogue with the art world by unveiling the next chapter of its Swatch Art Journey: the Swatch × Guggenheim Collection. This new release introduces four timepieces inspired by iconic works from Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Paul Klee, and Jackson Pollock, created in collaboration with the Guggenheim New York and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
More than a simple crossover, this collection reinforces Swatch’s core philosophy: making art accessible, wearable, and part of everyday life. It’s a relationship that dates back to the early 1990s, when Swatch began supporting the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and collaborating with the Guggenheim New York—most notably with the Arnaldo Pomodoro-designed Swatch IRONY Special.
Four masterpieces, four distinct interpretations
Each watch in the Swatch × Guggenheim Collection draws directly from a celebrated artwork, translating its essence into form, color, and unexpected detail.
Dancers Degas is inspired by Dancers in Green and Yellow (1903), currently on display at the Guggenheim New York. True to Degas’ fascination with movement and unconventional perspectives, the dial zooms in on a ballerina’s feet, while the straps extend the scene with flowing tutus and graceful silhouettes. The result feels intimate, dynamic, and unmistakably Degas.

Monet’s Palazzo Ducale takes its cue from The Palazzo Ducale, Seen from San Giorgio Maggiore (1908). The watch face captures the iconic Venetian landmark bathed in Monet’s luminous brushstrokes, while the straps echo the shimmering reflections of the lagoon. A playful twist lies beneath the surface: after exposure to UV light, the dial glows a vivid orange, revealing another layer of Venice’s romantic mystique.
This model is also available with SwatchPAY!, blending classic art with modern functionality.

Klee’s Bavarian Don Giovanni channels the whimsical symbolism of Paul Klee’s The Bavarian Don Giovanni (1919). Often interpreted as a veiled self-portrait, the artwork comes alive on the wrist through bold geometry, expressive lines, and vibrant colors. A particularly clever detail appears on the dial: a calendar wheel whose date window changes color every day—an elegant nod to Klee’s ever-shifting passions and playful spirit.

Pollock’s Alchemy captures the raw, untamed energy of Alchemy (1947), a seminal work by Jackson Pollock housed in the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. The watch’s dial and strap mirror Pollock’s revolutionary drip-painting technique, translating chaotic beauty into a wearable expression of American abstract expressionism.

A shared thread across the collection
Despite their vastly different artistic languages, all four watches share a subtle unifying detail: a double-length seconds hand, symbolizing the transatlantic bond between New York and Venice, and the two Guggenheim institutions that inspired the collection.
Art, made wearable—again
With the Swatch × Guggenheim Collection, Swatch once again succeeds in bringing museum-grade art beyond gallery walls and onto the wrist. It’s a reminder that masterpieces don’t have to remain behind glass—they can move, tick, glow, and even change color with time.

The Swatch × Guggenheim Collection is available online and in Swatch stores worldwide since January 15, 2026.
