Citizen has introduced two exclusive editions of its iconic Promaster Diver Automatic, reviving the adventurous spirit of the original model launched in 1989. These new watches feature a robust 42mm stainless steel case, offering a modern interpretation of the classic diver’s timepiece with a choice of two distinct colour schemes: one with a sleek black dial and bezel adorned with gilt accents, and another showcasing a rich brown dial and bezel with copper-like tones.
Crafted with durability and performance in mind, the brushed stainless steel case is complemented by a unidirectional serrated bezel inspired by the Japanese Fugu fish, commonly known as the pufferfish. The bezel’s diving scale, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown at the distinctive 8 o’clock position, and solid screw-down case back engraved with the Fugu motif underscore the watch’s focus on functionality and aesthetic appeal. The case provides water resistance up to 200 meters, ensuring reliability under challenging conditions.
The dials, available in black or brown, are marked by applied trapezoid-shaped hour markers and luminescent-filled hands for superior visibility in low-light environments. Additional features include a day-date display at 3 o’clock, a domed minute chapter ring, and the iconic Promaster logo at 6 o’clock, accompanied by the inscriptions “Automatic” and “Diver’s 200m.”
