Hublot Introduces Colorful New Big Bang Unico For Summer 2025
Hublot adds a new seasonal statement to its Big Bang Unico lineup with the Summer 2025 edition—limited to just 100 pieces. The watch combines bold design codes with precision watchmaking, presented in a high-tech ceramic build that celebrates the energy and contrast of summer.
A High-Contrast Ceramic Construction
The watch features a 42 mm case constructed from orange micro-blasted ceramic, paired with a sky blue ceramic bezel. The combination offers a striking contrast, underscored by six titanium screws that secure the bezel in typical Big Bang fashion. The watch measures 14.50 mm in height, maintaining the signature proportions of the Unico line—robust yet wearable.
Flanking the case are two dark blue lateral case extensions that connect visually to the dial’s dark blue movement plate. The caseback is crafted in sky blue ceramic and fitted with a sapphire crystal window, offering a rear view of the movement within.
Functional Aesthetics on Display
A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the dial side reveals a multi-layered skeleton display. Arabic numerals and hour markers are applied to a transparent plate, while a partially exposed date wheel runs along the periphery. The 60-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock is rendered in sky blue, while the small seconds at 9 o’clock is hollowed out, both feature orange frames matching the case tone. The dial’s structure includes orange accents around the minute track and chronograph registers, reinforcing the seasonal theme.
Hands for hours, minutes, and sub-dials are skeletonised and filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring legibility in low light. A yellow chronograph seconds hand adds a dynamic visual break.
Movement: The HUB1280 Unico
Inside is the HUB1280 Unico automatic chronograph movement, developed in-house. This flyback column-wheel chronograph offers seamless reset and restart functionality. The movement operates at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations/hour), includes a silicon escapement for improved performance, and provides a power reserve of 3 days.
From the back, the movement features a skeletonized rotor with a dark blue finish, echoing the inner dial structure and contrasting with the sky blue ceramic of the outer caseback.
Versatile Strap Options and Quick Change System
The Big Bang Unico Summer 2025 ships with three structured rubber straps—each in a different shade: orange, dark blue, and sky blue, all featuring a white interior lining. The straps are secured with a titanium deployant clasp and can be easily swapped using Hublot’s One-Click strap change system.
