Hublot And SORAI Unveil The Big Bang Tourbillon For Rhino Conservation

Hublot has once again collaborated with SORAI (Save Our Rhinos Africa and India) to launch a new limited edition watch, the Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon. SORAI, founded by former cricketer Kevin Pietersen, is dedicated to conserving endangered rhinos, whose numbers have dwindled from 500,000 in the early 20th century to just over 27,000 today. The threat of extinction is exacerbated by illegal poaching for rhino horns, which are falsely believed to have medicinal properties.

Hublot has been a long-time supporter of rhino conservation, with part of the proceeds from their watches contributing to this cause. The latest Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon features a microblasted and polished grey ceramic case, reflecting the rhino’s skin. Measuring 42mm in diameter and 13.25mm thick, the watch has a sleek design with black flanks, a recessed bezel secured by six screws, and a sapphire crystal caseback. It is water-resistant up to 50 meters and features a fluted crown at 3 o’clock.

The watch’s skeletonized dial showcases a tourbillon at 6 o’clock, a power reserve indicator at 8, and a rhino motif at 3 o’clock, all set against blackened bridges. At the heart of the watch lies the HUB6029 hand-wound movement, offering a 5-day power reserve and operating at 21,600 Vph.

In line with the conservation theme, the watch comes with two straps—a grey fabric strap with a Velcro closure and a rubber strap featuring a camouflage pattern—both benefiting from Hublot’s quick-release system. Limited to just 30 units, this exceptional timepiece is priced at USD 110,000, with a portion of the sales going towards SORAI’s conservation efforts.
