Hanhart Updates The 415 ES Chronograph With A Modern Twist
The Hanhart 415 ES returns with a fresh new look, as the German watch brand introduces a new iteration of its modern reinterpretation of the historic chronograph. Originally launched in the mid-1960s as the first chronograph to feature a bidirectional 60-minute bezel, the 415 ES made a comeback just over two months ago. Now, Hanhart updates its design by replacing the previous beige accents with crisp white details, giving the watch a more contemporary aesthetic while maintaining its vintage appeal.
Housed in a 39mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 13.50mm and a lug-to-lug length of 46mm, the new Hanhart 415 ES retains the robust construction and primarily brushed finish of its predecessor. The bidirectional bezel, crafted with a black ceramic insert, features a 60-minute scale and an inverted triangle at the top, staying true to the original design. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the fluted crown at 3 o’clock is flanked by two pushers. The screwed solid case back carries the brand’s signature, and the watch maintains its impressive 100-meter water resistance.
The matte black dial remains largely unchanged except for the updated white Arabic numerals and indexes, replacing the previous yellow tones. The hour and minute hands, which were previously bronze with beige luminescent material, are now entirely white with luminescent filling for enhanced legibility. The bi-compax layout continues with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a running seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, while the outer edges feature a white and red tachymeter scale. The Hanhart logo sits below noon, with movement details placed at 6 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the manually wound Sellita SW510 caliber, offering a 23-jewel construction, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and an impressive 58-hour power reserve.
Staying true to its classic appeal, the new Hanhart 415 ES is available with either a brown leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. Priced at €2,390, this latest iteration blends heritage with modern refinement, making it an enticing option for chronograph enthusiasts and collectors alike.
