Hanhart Preventor HD12 Silk Purple: A Bold Take On A Rugged Classic
We’ve already mentioned in other articles that the violet dial trend has been spreading across numerous watch brands this year, and the public seems to embrace it with enthusiasm. The latest addition to this growing movement comes from Hanhart, which introduces a special edition of its versatile tool watch: the Preventor HD12 Silk Purple.
Case and Durability
The Silk Purple edition retains the familiar 39 mm case size, measuring 10.50 mm in thickness and 46 mm lug-to-lug, designed to balance comfort and presence on the wrist. The case is crafted from Hanhart’s proprietary HD12 steel, hardened through a carbon diffusion process that increases surface resistance to an impressive 1,200 Vickers—around five times stronger than standard 316L stainless steel. A transparent PVD coating provides an extra layer of protection, ensuring the watch remains scratch-resistant through everyday wear.

Additional durability comes from a convex sapphire crystal with a hardness rating of 2,000 Vickers, while the screw-down crown and caseback secure a 150-meter water resistance, making the watch suitable for both urban and outdoor environments.
Dial and Legibility
The defining feature of this edition is its matte silk-purple dial, which sets it apart within the HD12 family. The dial is complemented by crisp white Arabic numerals and cathedral-style hands, both filled with Super-LumiNova C1 that emits a green glow in low-light conditions. The central seconds hand, distinguished by a red-lacquered bent tip, also carries lume for improved legibility and reduced parallax.

Movement
Inside the case is either the Sellita SW200-1 or Soprod P024, both reliable automatic movements. In keeping with the streamlined design of the Preventor HD12, the movement has been modified to remove the date complication and prevent a ghost crown position. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it provides hacking seconds for precise synchronization and a 38-hour power reserve. Each movement is regulated by Hanhart to an accuracy of 0/+8 seconds per day.
Bracelet and Comfort
The Preventor HD12 Silk Purple is fitted with a stainless steel bracelet that carries the same scratch-resistant transparent PVD coating as the case. Its folding clasp integrates a diver-style extension, allowing for quick micro-adjustments of approximately one centimeter for added comfort.

Availability and Price
The Hanhart Preventor HD12 Silk Purple is limited to 200 pieces worldwide, with 150 units reserved for Germany. It is priced at € 1,295.
