Hanhart Presents The New Primus Fly Navy Chronograph
Hanhart, the watchmaking brand born in Switzerland in 1882 and 20 years later became German, became notable for specializing in the production of chronographs and being one of the many brands to supply these timepieces to pilots and naval officers during WWII.
The Primus collection activated in 2009, offers contemporary chronographs, now launch the Primus Fly Navy Chronograph in a limited edition.
The new timepiece arrives in two variants, one in stainless steel and the other in the same material but with a black PVD, with dimensions of 44mm in diameter and 15mm in thickness, and articulated lugs, which not only allows it to fit better on small wrists but also makes increase the wearable experience. The edge-coin bezel comes fixed and displays a red marker at 12 o’clock that matches the tone of the chronograph pusher at 4 o’clock, which is also the brand’s signature. The fluted crown at 3 o’clock is embossed with the Marineflieger logo which is also displayed in yellow on the dial, sapphire crystal on both sides and 100m water resistance.
The blue dial features a tenant chapter ring with baton hour markers and a triangle with two dots at noon all filled with Super-LumiNova. In the centre a bi-compax layout with a 30-minute counter and running seconds at 3 and 6 o’clock respectively, a twelve Arabic numeral and at the opposite side a date window with a black background, two black skeletonized hands with luminescent white outlines tips, a centre chronograph seconds hand with a yellow trident counterweight and the brand’s white lettering followed by the inscription ‘Flieger’ at 12 o’clock.
Inside runs the Sellita SW510 automatic movement that reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve, and whose rear glass is decorated with the crest of either the MFG3 „Graf Zeppelin“ or MFG5 squadron leaving that choice to the customer.
The chronograph is attached to a blue or black textile strap with a steel folding clasp matching the case with prices varying between €2,690 for the steel version and €3,190 for the steel version with black PVD.
