Hamilton Unveils A New Khaki Field Mechanical For Call Of Duty
Hamilton returns to the world of Call of Duty with a new special edition of one of its most recognisable military-inspired watches. Created around Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the new Khaki Field Mechanical 38 mm combines the compact proportions and utilitarian character of Hamilton’s field-watch heritage with a number of details referencing the game and its iconic character, Captain John Price.
The new Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical combines a blackened exterior, textured dial, hand-wound movement and a military-inspired textile strap.
A compact field-watch case
The watch retains the 38 mm stainless-steel case dimensions of the Khaki Field Mechanical, a size that remains closely aligned with the proportions of historic military field watches. Its relatively compact diameter also keeps the design practical and discreet on the wrist.

For this edition, the stainless-steel case receives a sandblasted black PVD coating. The finish removes much of the reflective character associated with polished or conventional stainless steel, while giving the watch a darker, more functional appearance. The sandblasted treatment also complements the military character of the Khaki Field collection.
The case measures 9.50 mm in thickness and is paired with a 20 mm lug width. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres, providing the level of protection expected from a watch designed primarily around everyday field-watch use.
A dial with subtle Modern Warfare references
The dial follows the familiar functional layout of the Khaki Field Mechanical, with a predominantly black surface and highly legible markings. However, Hamilton has incorporated several details specifically for the Modern Warfare 4 collaboration.

The typography incorporates visual elements inspired by the game’s distinctive graphic identity, including the characteristic treatment of the number four. Small coloured accents provide additional contrast against the otherwise monochromatic dial.
One of the more interesting details is the dial texture. Rather than using a completely flat surface, Hamilton has given it a pronounced grain that adds depth while maintaining the utilitarian character of the watch.
The combination of Arabic numerals, minute track and contrasting hands preserves the essential field-watch philosophy: readability takes priority over decoration. The Modern Warfare references are therefore integrated into an existing military vocabulary rather than completely transforming the design.
A watch designed to be wound
Inside the case is Hamilton’s H-50 hand-wound mechanical movement. The calibre is based on the Swatch Group’s architecture used across Hamilton’s mechanical field-watch range and was developed with this type of watch particularly in mind.

The H-50 provides an impressive 80-hour power reserve, meaning that the watch can be removed on a Friday and still be running when picked up again on Monday. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and features a central hours and minutes display alongside a central seconds hand.
The absence of an automatic winding system is particularly appropriate here. Winding the watch manually once the power reserve runs down reinforces the traditional mechanical character of the Khaki Field Mechanical and keeps the watch closely connected to the historic field watches that inspired the collection.
Military-inspired textile strap
Completing the package is a 20mm khaki-green textile strap. Its colour provides the strongest contrast with the black PVD case while maintaining the military aesthetic of the watch.

The choice also connects the modern collaboration with Hamilton’s long history of supplying military watches. The Khaki Field family draws heavily from the functional watches produced for armed forces during the twentieth century, where durability, legibility and simplicity were more important than decorative finishing.
The textile construction makes sense within that context, while the green tone gives the watch a slightly more traditional field-watch appearance despite the predominantly black exterior.
Call of Duty on the caseback
The collaboration becomes more explicit on the reverse of the watch. The caseback features an engraved soundwave graphic associated with the Modern Warfare universe, providing a permanent reference to the game without altering the functionality of the watch.

The front remains relatively restrained, while the caseback provides one of the clearest indications that this is a special edition rather than a standard Khaki Field Mechanical.
This approach should make the watch particularly interesting to collectors who appreciate collaborations where the connection is present but does not completely overwhelm the underlying product.
