Hamilton Khaki Field Murph 38mm: A New Blue Chapter
The Hamilton Khaki Field Murph 38 mm adds a new colourway to one of the brand’s most recognisable contemporary field watches. Inspired by the timepiece created for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, this latest version combines a deep-blue gradient dial with the compact proportions and mechanical credentials that have made the Murph a popular everyday watch.
The new model retains the familiar 38 mm case, while introducing a dial with a more distinctive visual character than the earlier black and white versions.
A dial inspired by the stars
The main change is the dial, which features a deep-blue gradient that becomes darker towards the edges. Its pronounced grain texture is intended to evoke the appearance of stardust, adding depth to the otherwise traditional field-watch layout.

The design remains restrained, with applied-style Arabic numerals, cathedral hands and a clear central seconds hand. Super-LumiNova provides nighttime visibility, preserving the practical legibility expected from the Khaki Field family.
Unlike the original 42 mm Murph, this 38 mm version does not feature the “Eureka” Morse-code detail on the seconds hand. That particular reference to Interstellar remains exclusive to the larger model.
Familiar proportions, versatile styling
The stainless-steel case measures 38 mm in diameter, making this version a more compact alternative to the original 42 mm Murph. Its round profile, relatively simple architecture and traditional field-watch design give it a versatile character, suitable for both casual and more formal settings.

The new blue dial is paired with a black leather strap or a stainless-steel bracelet. The two options offer different interpretations of the same watch: the leather version maintains a more vintage-inspired appearance, while the bracelet gives the Murph a more contemporary everyday-wear identity.
Hamilton’s H-10 automatic movement
Inside the case is Hamilton’s automatic Calibre H-10. The movement offers an 80-hour power reserve, allowing the watch to remain running for more than three days when fully wound.

The movement is visible through an exhibition caseback, providing a view of the mechanical construction. This is particularly relevant for a watch whose appeal is closely tied to its mechanical character rather than simply its cinematic association.
The combination of a compact case, automatic movement and extended power reserve makes the Murph 38vmm a practical proposition for daily wear.
