Hamilton Introduces Two New Pilot Pioneer Mechanical and a New PSR
I’m writing to you to talk very quickly about two interesting new additions made by Hamilton.
Starting with the Hamilton PSR, based on the Pulsar P2 from the 70s, whose brand was owned by Hamilton until it was sold, and which was used in the movie 007 starring actor Roger Moore, stood out mainly for its digital display with red LCD and for its rounded square shape completed with an integrated presidential style bracelet.
In 2020 it would be “re-introduced” by Hamilton under the name of a new insignia, the PSR, and since then it has known some interactions, currently featuring the traditional steel variant and another with a black PVD coated both with a red LCD, in between, there were also two limited editions in honour of the Matrix movie, one in gold and the other with a black PVD coated with a green LCD.
Now comes a new standard production variant in stainless steel with green LCD, and if all else remains the same, we can easily say that its green display makes all the difference and matches perfectly with the brushed finish of the entire surface of the watch. It’s without a doubt a fresh breath on PSR, more contemporary and funny that will delight many fans, we sure like it.
Hamilton, PSR Digital Quartz, H52414131. Black dial, stainless steel case, 40.8 mm x 34.7 mm, sapphire crystal, 100 meters water resistance, stainless steel bracelet. Quartz movement, hour, minutes. Price CHF 745, Limited Edition: No.
The other no less exciting addition is in the Khaki Aviation family, two new variants of the Pilot Pioneer Mechanical based on the vintage model produced for the British Royal Air Force in 1973, which now appear one with a silver dial and the other with a blue dial and which joins the already existing model with a black dial.
The two new watches feature exactly the same previous internal and external configuration, there are no innovations, and in addition to the new tones on the dial, there is only the luminescent material on the hour markers and hands that now comes in off-white tones instead of the beige patina of the classic black model, both watches come with the Nato strap in shades of grey and blue matching the respective dial.
We liked the silver version the most, which seems to be by far the most versatile and seems to us to be an excellent alternative to the previous black version.
