H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner OFF-GRID: A New Digital Chapter For The Streamliner
H. Moser & Cie. expands its Streamliner collection with the new Streamliner OFF-GRID, a digital timepiece that combines an unconventional display, a high-performance electronic movement and the distinctive design language of the Streamliner family. While it follows the digital watches previously developed for the Alpine Formula 1 team, the OFF-GRID takes a broader approach, bringing an extensive range of functions together in a more versatile package.
Available in two colourways and limited to 1,000 pieces per version, the watch introduces a number of functions rarely encountered in a high-end digital watch, including a perpetual calendar, perpetual moon phase, sunrise and sunset indications, GMT, a 1/100th-second split-seconds chronograph and a multilingual dictionary.
A Streamliner case with a digital twist
The Streamliner OFF-GRID retains the distinctive rounded and flowing geometry associated with H. Moser & Cie.’s Streamliner collection. Its stainless-steel case measures 42.60 mm in diameter and 14.40 mm in thickness, with water resistance rated to 120 metres.

Two versions are available. One combines a blue PVD-treated case with a blue-toned dial, while the other features a black PVD-treated case paired with red accents. The finishes give each configuration a distinctly contemporary appearance while maintaining the characteristic integrated architecture of the Streamliner.
The domed sapphire crystal protects the front of the watch, while another sapphire crystal is used for the case back. The latter incorporates the Moser hallmark, adding a traditional horological detail to what is otherwise a highly unconventional timepiece.
Four pushers control the watch’s various functions. Three are positioned on the right side of the case, while a dedicated pusher at 9 o’clock activates the OFF-GRID function.
An analogue and digital display
The dial is divided into two distinct areas.
The upper section retains an analogue display, with a fumé finish and a transparent lacquered H. Moser & Cie. logo. The blue version receives a dark-toned dial, while the black version uses a red treatment for additional contrast.

Below it sits the digital display, which provides access to the watch’s extensive collection of functions. Much of the surrounding area is skeletonised, exposing elements of the electronic movement underneath and creating a visual connection between the digital technology and traditional watchmaking aesthetics.
The applied ceramic indices are treated with Super-LumiNova, as are the hands, ensuring that the analogue display remains legible in low-light conditions.
Calibre D10: an electronic engine with an extensive repertoire
At the heart of the Streamliner OFF-GRID is the Calibre D10, developed by H. Moser & Cie. in partnership with Sequent, as was the electronic architecture used in the brand’s earlier Alpine editions.

The movement measures 32.50 mm wide, 33.90 mm long and 6.90 mm thick and operates at a frequency of 32,768 Hz. Its stated accuracy is ±0.3 seconds per day.
Battery life varies according to how the watch is used. In time-display-only mode, the battery can last for approximately 12 months. With more extensive use, including the time display, 30 days of alarm operation and one hour of chronograph use, the stated autonomy is around six months.
The extensive functionality is one of the defining aspects of the Calibre D10. Alongside hours and minutes, it provides a chronograph with split-seconds capability and 1/100th-second precision, a timer and a vibrating alarm.
The watch also incorporates GMT functionality with a country selector covering all time zones, making the system particularly practical for frequent travellers.
A calendar programmed for a century
The calendar functions go considerably beyond a conventional digital date display.
The Streamliner OFF-GRID features a perpetual calendar, together with a perpetual moon-phase indication that is updated every hour. The moon-phase system is programmed for the next 100 years.

The same century-long programming is used for the watch’s sunrise and sunset indications, which are calculated with an accuracy of one minute and 30 seconds.
This combination of astronomical and calendar functions gives the digital Streamliner a surprisingly broad horological repertoire, despite its fundamentally electronic architecture.
The OFF-GRID function
The feature that gives the watch its name is accessed through the dedicated pusher at 9 o’clock.

The OFF-GRID mode allows the wearer to select a country and then access a dictionary containing ten words in each of 21 languages. It is an unusual addition to a wristwatch, and one that gives the watch a more playful dimension beyond its conventional timekeeping functions.
Connectivity is provided through Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3, with compatibility with both iOS and Android devices.
Despite this connectivity, the watch is designed around the idea of not constantly demanding the wearer’s attention. H. Moser & Cie. has incorporated a number of playful messages into the digital interface, reinforcing the OFF-GRID concept and giving the otherwise highly technical instrument a lighter personality.
