Grand Seiko Unveils The Stunning SBGH349 With “Icefall” Dial
Grand Seiko has once again captivated watch enthusiasts with the release of the new SBGH349, featuring the iconic “Icefall” dial. This stunning timepiece builds upon the success of its predecessor, the SBGH347, by introducing a larger case crafted from High-Intensity Titanium, bringing a bold yet lightweight option to the brand’s Heritage collection.
The exquisite “Icefall” dial draws inspiration from the frozen waterfalls near Mt. Iwate, visible from Grand Seiko’s Studio Shizukuishi. Its icy blue tones, adorned with a vertical texture, beautifully replicate the solidified cascades of winter. Polished indexes, Dauphine hands, and a framed date window complement the intricate dial design, while a black minute track along the edges and the embossed Grand Seiko logo at noon add to its refined aesthetics.
The SBGH349 boasts a GS 9S-style case measuring 40mm in diameter, 13mm in thickness, and 46.60mm in length. Its High-Intensity Titanium construction features a combination of brushed and polished finishes, enhancing both durability and elegance. The watch is equipped with a dual-curved sapphire crystal, drilled lugs, a smooth fixed bezel, and a semi-recessed screw-down crown engraved with the brand’s emblem. The open case back reveals the meticulous craftsmanship of the movement, while the watch offers 100 meters of water resistance for practical wearability.
Inside, the SBGH349 houses the high-performance Caliber 9S85, a 37-jewel automatic movement renowned for its precision and reliability. Operating at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, this movement delivers an impressive accuracy range of -3/+5 seconds per day and provides a power reserve of up to 55 hours.
Completing the timepiece is a matching 5-row High-Intensity Titanium bracelet with a three-fold clasp featuring the Grand Seiko signature. This remarkable watch, priced at €8,000, will be available starting January 2025, making it a compelling addition to any collection. Combining cutting-edge craftsmanship with timeless design, the Grand Seiko SBGH349 is a tribute to the artistry of Japanese watchmaking.
