The Grand Seiko SBGJ283 features an off-white textured dial inspired by Washi paper, a craft dating back over 800 years, recognized by UNESCO as a cultural treasure. The dial’s intricate texture mimics the delicate folds and porous quality of Washi, created from mulberry tree fibers (Kozo). Adding a vibrant touch, the red GMT central hand reflects the hues of Kozo fruits, seamlessly marrying art with function.
The watch is housed in a 40mm Ever-Brilliant Steel case, a nod to Grand Seiko’s iconic 44GS design. With its polished mirror finish, smooth bezel, and drilled lugs, the case exudes timeless elegance.
