Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Now Arrives In Yellow And Light Blue
The Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date is back and better than ever! This stunning timepiece features a square case with a TV-shaped design that was first introduced back in 2014. Now, the watch brand has released two limited edition versions of this beauty, each with only 100 pieces available, and both featuring matte dials.
In keeping with the summer season, Glashütte Original has opted for lacquer dials in two stunning colours: “Golden Bay” a toasted yellow and “Ocean Breeze” in lilac blue. The layout of the watch remains the same as previous versions, but the dials now feature totalizers in a lovely grey tone, with the usual 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a running seconds with a power reserve aperture at 9 o’clock. The watch also features an unconventional 12-hour display at noon, and the brand’s signature Panorama Date window at 6 o’clock, both in black. The hour markers and hands are all outlined in black and filled with Super-LumiNova.
The stainless steel case is 40mm wide and 14.1mm thick and like the integrated steel bracelet comes with a satin and polished finish, crown at 3 o’clock with crown guards, and two rectangular pushers on the sides. The sapphire glass on the front and back protect the watch, which is also water-resistant up to 100m.
The new flyback chronograph is powered by the in-house automatic movement Caliber 37-02, which reaches 28,800 Bph and offers up to 70 hours of power reserve. The same can be seen through the open rear case, with particular emphasis on its skeletonized rotor.
You can purchase this watch with either a steel bracelet or a black rubber strap, with prices ranging between €16,200 and €17,400 respectively. Don’t miss out on this limited-edition timepiece!
Our Opinion
The brand’s new watches with the two new colour variants on the dial are not that different from their previous offerings. However, I do appreciate their matte finish, which makes them more versatile and suitable for all seasons.
Personally, I am a fan of the TV-shaped case of the 70s and the new Seventies Panorama Date watches. The addition of counters in a darkened tone and the contemporary look they provide appeal to me.
Although they are a bit pricey, the brand’s commitment to quality is evident, and the premium charged for these limited editions is understandable. Overall, I don’t think there is any reason to be disappointed with these new watches.
