Glashütte Original Reveals New PanoLunarTourbillon In Platinum With Eisenerz Dial
Glashütte Original presents a renewed take on its PanoLunarTourbillon, this time in a limited edition of just 50 pieces. This refined version reintroduces the platinum case while also debuting a newly developed dial crafted entirely in-house at the brand’s newly inaugurated dial manufacture in Glashütte, Saxony — a significant step for the brand’s vertical integration and local craftsmanship.
Case and Dimensions
The case maintains the familiar proportions established in previous models, measuring 40 mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug distance of 47 mm, and a reduced thickness of 12.70 mm, which is 0.4mm slimmer than the previous platinum version released in 2020. The platinum case is meticulously finished with slender flanks, long beveled lugs, and a two-stepped polished bezel. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides ensures clarity and protection for the dial.

Dial and Aesthetic
A standout feature of this new edition is its dial, which showcases a galvanic rose tone known as “Eisenerz”, meaning “iron ore” in German. The color pays tribute to the reddish hues found in the local soil surrounding Glashütte, rich in oxidized iron deposits. The fine-grain texture of the dial is both tactile and symbolic, celebrating regional heritage through material expression.

Applied elements on the dial — including markers and details — are rendered in deep heat-blued steel, while the hour and minute hands are filled with Super-LumiNova for visibility in low light. The asymmetrical layout, characteristic of the Pano collection, is preserved, featuring an off-centre time display, moon phase aperture, and the Panorama Date. The moon phase display and date window are accented in matching blue, harmonizing with the blued steel elements and adding visual depth against the rose-colored backdrop.

Movement and Tourbillon
Powering the timepiece is Glashütte Original’s in-house Calibre 93-03, a manually wound mechanical movement that reflects the brand’s technical heritage and finishing standards. The flying tourbillon, located at 7 o’clock on the dial, completes a full rotation every 60 seconds and also serves as the watch’s small seconds indicator. This mechanism pays homage to the tourbillon design first introduced by Alfred Helwig, a Glashütte-based master watchmaker, in 1920.
The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and incorporates a silicon balance spring, offering enhanced resistance to magnetism and greater long-term stability. Thanks to a generously sized barrel, the watch delivers a power reserve of 60 hours, offering improved autonomy over previous editions.

Visible through the transparent caseback, the movement is adorned with Glashütte ribbing, hand-polished chamfers, blued screws, and a rhodium-plated 21-carat gold off-centre rotor, aligning visually with the dial’s unconventional layout.
Straps and Clasp
The watch is offered with two distinct strap options. The first is a dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap, providing a traditional and elegant pairing with the platinum case and rose dial. The second is a synthetic blue fabric strap, offering a modern and sporty contrast that reflects evolving tastes in haute horlogerie. Both straps are secured by a platinum folding clasp, ensuring balance, comfort, and a seamless finish in line with the watch’s overall design language.
Availability and Pricing
The 2025 Glashütte Original PanoLunarTourbillon will be available from June 2025 at Glashütte Original boutiques and selected authorized retailers worldwide. Production is strictly limited to 50 pieces, emphasizing the exclusivity of this edition. The watch is priced at €129,300.
