Girard-Perregaux Introduces The Laureato 42MM ‘Infinite Grey’
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Laureato collection, Girard-Perregaux unveils a new iteration in the line’s signature 42mm size: the Laureato 42mm “Infinite Grey”. This latest release continues to uphold the collection’s defining design language while introducing a standout dial treatment that reflects the brand’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship.
A Design Anchored in Heritage
The Laureato’s architecture remains true to its roots. The octagonal bezel—an enduring hallmark of the series—is mounted on a tonneau-shaped stainless steel case. At 42 mm in diameter and 10.68 mm thick, the case balances presence with wearability. The brushed and polished finishes create contrast across the surface, accentuating the geometric interplay between bezel, case, and integrated bracelet.

A Dial Forged by Fire
What distinguishes the “Infinite Grey” edition is its Grand Feu enamel dial. The surface begins with a traditional sunray guilloché pattern, which is then coated with enamel using a meticulous layering process. The enamel mixture—a combination of silica, potash, soda, and metal oxides—is applied and fired at approximately 800°C multiple times to achieve a consistent finish.

Each firing fuses the enamel to the dial, gradually building up depth and complexity. The result is a grey hue subtly infused with bluish undertones, offering a rich, glass-like appearance that varies with lighting. Due to the high rejection rate during production, only flawless dials make it into final pieces, ensuring exclusivity and quality.
The watch offers hours, minutes, central seconds, and a date function. The rhodium-plated hands are shaped in the classic Laureato baton style, and the central seconds hand features a counterweight referencing the brand’s iconic Gold Bridge.
In-House Mechanical Performance
Inside the case ticks Girard-Perregaux’s GP01800-2035 automatic movement, developed and manufactured entirely in-house. This self-winding caliber beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 54-hour power reserve.

The movement measures 3.97 mm in thickness and is composed of 191 components, including 28 jewels. Finishing is executed to a high standard: circular and straight Côtes de Genève across the rotor and bridges, polished screw heads, beveled edges, and perlage on the mainplate. A pink gold oscillating weight enhances the visual appeal through the sapphire display caseback.
Strap and Price
The Laureato 42mm “Infinite Grey” is paired with an integrated bracelet, crafted from stainless steel and mirrors the case’s finishing with alternating brushed and polished links, delivering both comfort and visual refinement. It is now available globally through authorized Girard-Perregaux retailers priced at € 18,800.
