Girard-Perregaux celebrates 230 years with the launch of Laureato Absolute Ti 230 Limited Edition

The prestigious Swiss brand Girard-Perregaux celebrates this year 230 years of existence, a date that also marks the discovery of an unknown metal, which later came to be recognized as titanium. To mark this date, Girard-Perregaux has just launched the Laureato Absolute Ti 230 as a limited edition, which, as the name indicates, pays homage to the brand’s 230 years and to the discovery of the titanium element.
The new watch comes in a 44 mm Grade 5 titanium case with finishes that alternate between the sandblasted case and the polished facets, octagonal bezel and crown in the same shape at 3 o’clock encircled with a rubber ring matching with the strap and the color dial.
The Ti 230 is offered in two color variants on the dial, one in gray and one in blue, the construction of which is made in sandwich mode consisting of two layers, a top layer with numerous baton-shaped openings and a second bottom layer that comes with luminescent material on the surface that, when closing with the top layer, provides easy readability of the dial in low light conditions. In the center rhodium-plated baton hands filled with lume and a date aperture at 6 o’clock.
The watch is powered by the In-house movement Caliber GP03300-1060 which offers up to 46 hours of power reserve and is supported by 218 components.
Both variants are offered with an integrated strap, based on the original model released in 1975, made of GP Rubber Alloy in the color of the dial, with a folding clasp in titanium with a micro-adjustment system, for a price of €9,400.
Each variant is limited to 230 pieces, the gray variant is already available at the brand’s official store and authorized retailers, while the blue variant will only be available at Wempe boutiques in Germany and its flagship stores in New York and London for a month and later in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers.
