Geneva Watch Days 2021 – Breitling Top Time Classic Cars
Breitling has just unveiled a new capsule collection of its classic Top Time model called “Classic Cars”, and as the name indicates dedicated exclusively to three “American” classics cars from the 60s, a Chevrolet Corvette C2 (Sting Ray), a Ford Mustang and a Shelby Cobra.
The new collection, comprising three models each dedicated to a single classic, comes in two different sizes, 42mm for the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang variants and 40mm for the Shelby Cobra variants.
Starting with the two 42mm models, they come in a stainless steel case, crown at 3 o’clock flanked by two pushbuttons, sapphire glass, and case back engraved with the logo of the respective classic car. The dials are in red on the Chevrolet variant and green on the Mustang variant. Inside of it, an inner ring with tachymeter scale and three totalizers squares with rounded corners all in black, cars logos at 12 o’clock, white hour index and polished hands set all filled with lume, and lastly some extra notes in yellow and orange. Both variants come with the Caliber Breitling 25 automatic movement, which offers up to 42 hours of power reserve, 1/8th of a second chronograph, 30-second, 15-minute, and 6-hour totalizers.
The 40mm variant also comes with a stainless steel case in the same shape as the other two wider variants, with a blue dial, inner ring, and two totalizers squares with rounded corners all in white, Shelby logo at 6 o’clock, white hour indexes and polished hands set all filled with lume, and lastly some extra notes in red and blue. This variant is powered by the Caliber Breitling 41 automatic movement, which offers up to 42 hours of power reserve, 1/4th of a second chronograph, 30-minute totalizer, and running seconds.
All variants are offered with a calfskin leather “rally” strap, in brown for the Mustang and Shelby variants and in black for the Chevrolet variant, for a price of €5,440.
