G-Shock Celebrates Its Double Anniversary With A Limited Edition Frogman
G-Shock introduces a limited edition MR-G FROGMAN that marks its double anniversary, 40 years of the brand and 30 of its FROGMAN model.
The new watch, which comes in a titanium case, stands out for its many details in yellow whose tone pays homage to the yellow used in the first FROGMAN. The watch, in addition to the rubber strap, is also offered with a titanium bracelet that comes with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating as the case. It is a limited numbered edition of only 700 units for the whole world.
The applied hour indices come with generous layers of yellow luminescent material that glows in the dark underwater, while the three central hands receive the same luminescent material but in a blue tone, also featuring the traditional manually operated LED light.
The crown, buttons, and screws are treated with gold IP, while the screw-lock case back fits with a sapphire crystal finished in gold vapour deposition, and is engraved with the iconic FROGMAN diving frog character.
Its traditional asymmetric case is based on the MRG-BF1000 model, a premium, full-metal G-SHOCK MR-G timepiece for the sea. Titanium-clad, airtight with ISO 200-meter water resistance, the MRG-BF1000E now joins the FROGMAN family.
The watch is made up of an intricate combination of over 70 exterior components that include a protective structure that offers face-guarding functionality with buffers made of fluoro rubber installed in the space between the bezel and case.
The watch is powered by Solar-powered timekeeping with Bluetooth and radio control and comes with a wide range of features that include: diving mode, world time, tide graph, stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, full auto-calendar…
Finally, the watch comes in special packaging decorated with a golden medallion similar to the one found on the back of the watch and which is already available for €6,400.
