From The Grid To The Wrist: Tudor Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25
To mark the 2025 Formula 1 season and its ongoing partnership with the Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team, Tudor presents a limited-edition chronograph designed with motorsport DNA at its core — the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25.

Lightweight Carbon Engineering
At first glance, the watch brings a new material direction to the Black Bay Chrono line. The 42 mm case is crafted from carbon fiber, giving it a stealthy look and a significantly lighter wrist presence. The profile is slightly thinner than its stainless-steel predecessor at 14.30 mm. Enhancing the design are carbon fiber end-links and a fixed tachymeter bezel also made from carbon, continuing the theme across the whole case architecture.

The chronograph pushers and caseback are made from PVD-coated titanium, while the crown is PVD-coated steel, all screwed down to maintain the 200m water resistance. A domed sapphire crystal completes the structure.
A Dial That Channels the 2025 Racing Season
Inspired by the Visa Cash App RB team’s 2025 livery, the white opaline dial is accented with blue typography and a racing-style seconds track. The recessed sub-dials, made from carbon fiber, house the chronograph minutes and running seconds, while the date disc is color-matched in black.

The signature Snowflake hands and hour markers are outlined in black with white Super-LumiNova for strong nighttime readability. A slim racing scale runs around the periphery, and the depth rating in red injects a splash of color to the otherwise monochrome layout.
Strap, Movement, and a Unique Caseback
The hybrid strap fuses rubber and leather with a tire tread texture, complemented by blue stitching to match the dial accents. Inside beats the COSC-certified MT5813 movement, derived from the Breitling B01, with a column wheel, vertical clutch, silicon balance spring, and a 70-hour power reserve. Tudor’s regulation standard is tight at -2/+4 seconds per day.

One of the standout design elements is the engraved caseback, which features a top-down outline of the team’s F1 car, flanked by the individual number and total units produced (2,025 pieces) — a subtle but memorable nod to the racing partnership.
Limited and Numbered Edition
The Tudor Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25, reference 79377KN, is limited to 2,025 individually numbered pieces, aligning with the current Formula 1 season. It is priced at € 7,570.

A Personal Note
While a carbon-cased Tudor is undeniably cool and technically impressive, this one doesn’t immediately stir the kind of desire that other recent launches from the brand have managed to spark — such as the vibrant Black Bay Chrono “Flamingo Blue.” It’s not quite an everyday piece, nor is it fully stealthy despite the blacked-out exterior. It feels like it’s missing just a bit of the charisma that turns a great release into an unforgettable one. But as always, first impressions aren’t final — time, and time on wrist, tend to reveal the truth.
