From Ice To Trails: Audi Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept Leads The Charge
Audi has once again pushed the boundaries of electric vehicle innovation by unveiling the groundbreaking Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept. Presented during the World Cup weekend in Kitzbühel, Austria, this striking prototype offers a thrilling reinterpretation of the brand’s iconic quattro DNA.
Built for Adventure
Designed for those who crave both cutting-edge technology and rugged performance, the Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept boasts two powerful electric motors delivering a combined 380 kW of power. Its most impressive feat? Tackling gradients of up to 100 percent, thanks to newly developed portal axles that dramatically enhance torque distribution.
With a ride height increased by 160 mm (6.3 inches) and a wider track by 250 mm (9.8 inches), this beastly concept commands attention with its bold, muscular stance. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner described it as a “highly emotive reinterpretation of quattro” that sets new benchmarks for electric off-road vehicles.
A Technological Powerhouse
The Q6 e-tron offroad’s advanced portal axles offer a 50 percent boost in torque at the wheels compared to traditional designs. This innovation allows the vehicle to tackle inclines of up to 45 degrees, redefining what’s possible for an electric off-roader. While the top speed is limited to 175 km/h (108 mph) to maintain off-road control, the combined torque output peaks at a jaw-dropping 13,400 Nm (9,883 lb-ft).
Shaping the Future of EVs
The concept car is built on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which also underpins the production Q6 e-tron series. As the brand’s first model on this advanced platform, it promises impressive range, efficient charging, and a refined driving experience.
Audi enthusiasts already witnessed this remarkable vehicle in action during the F.A.T. Ice Race on February 1, 2025.
