Frederique Constant Presents The New Classic Tourbillon Meteorite Manufacture

Still following the celebration of the brand’s 35th Anniversary and the 15th Anniversary of the In-house Tourbillon Caliber, Frederique Constant now presents a 35-piece edition of an exceptional craftsmanship timepiece.

The new Classic Tourbillon Meteorite, which in all its form is similar to its peers, has as its main highlights here firstly its dial made from meteorite fragment material collected in Gibeon (Nambia) after having crashed on Earth and the second in the movement whose entire components were carefully finished by hand.

On the outside, this exclusive piece wears a 39mm diameter by 11mm thick 950 Platinum case that features a fully polished finish, sapphire crystal on both sides, an individually numbered rear case, an onion-shaped crown and 30m water resistance. water.

The textured dial in anthracite and grey tones receives a ruthenium finish, on which rest elongated hour markers and spear-shaped central hands both feature diamond cut edges, and finally, a tourbillon at 6 o’clock that houses a running second.

The second act of the show takes place in the case back, whose sapphire crystal reveals the In-house automatic movement FC-980 with a silicon escapement, which operates 28,800 Vph and offers up to 38 hours of power reserve. And if the movement is not surprising, the same cannot be said about its extraordinary handmade decoration, with special emphasis on the unique bridge that attempts to reproduce the appearance of a meteorite surface using hand-hammered, chamfered and Charbonnage finish techniques.

The watch, which comes attached to a black alligator leather strap with a folding buckle, is priced at €42,995, a price that deviates from the brand’s usual values but can easily be justified by the rare materials used and the number of hours worked by the artisans.
