Formex Essence Space Glacier: A Meteorite Dial In Ice-Toned Elegance
Formex continues to expand its innovative Space Rock series with the introduction of the Essence Space Glacier, a timepiece that seamlessly blends the precision of Swiss chronometry with the allure of extraterrestrial material. Building on the Essence platform’s reputation for robust engineering and everyday versatility, this new model introduces a distinctive ice-blue aesthetic anchored by a Muonionalusta meteorite dial.
Two Sizes, One Striking Identity
Available in both 39 mm and 43 mm stainless steel cases, the Essence Space Glacier is engineered for comfort and performance. The smaller version measures 10 mm in thickness, while the larger stands at 10.60 mm—both offering a 100m water resistance rating. Signature design elements remain intact: vertically brushed surfaces, polished chamfered edges, and the brand’s signature exposed bezel screws, which are more than decorative. These secure the internal titanium container that houses Formex’s patented suspension system—an integrated spring system designed to absorb shocks and enhance movement protection.

A Meteorite Dial With a Celestial Twist
The dial is made from a 0.5mm-thick slice of Muonionalusta meteorite, famed for its ancient origin and distinctive Widmanstätten pattern. To enhance the natural brilliance of the material, Formex applied a pure silver plating, a choice made after discovering that silver, rather than rhodium, best amplifies the intricate texture. The shimmering ice-blue hue is achieved through six ultra-thin layers of tinted zapon lacquer, adding a translucent glow without obscuring the pattern.

Additional refinements include an inclined minute/seconds flange, an applied Formex logo, and a beveled date window cut directly into the meteorite layer, revealing a grey date disc with subtle black numerals.
The applied baton indices and hands are faceted and brushed, with polished bevels filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9 for strong low-light visibility.
Chronometer Precision Inside
Powering the watch is the Sellita SW200-1, a COSC-certified automatic movement known for its reliability and widespread serviceability. Operating at 28,800 vph with a 41-hour power reserve, the movement is visible through a sapphire caseback and features a custom, skeletonized rotor with Formex branding.

Multiple Strap Options, Same Convenience
Buyers can choose between a solid-link stainless steel bracelet with a 4 mm micro-extension clasp or opt for an Italian leather or rubber strap fitted with Formex’s lightweight carbon fiber deployant clasp.
