Independent Swiss watchmaker ArtyA continues to expand its refined and technically ambitious Purity line with the launch of the Purity Curvy HMS Mirror Titanium — a watch that merges artistic case design with a high-performance in-house movement. Known for pushing creative boundaries, ArtyA’s latest creation offers a more wearable, sculptural alternative to its bold sapphire-cased models, while maintaining the avant-garde flair the brand is celebrated for.
Grade 5 Titanium Case with a Refined Edge
At the heart of the new release is a Grade 5 titanium case, notable for its fluid, organically contoured shape and ergonomic design. The finishing is deliberately contrasting: a predominantly blasted surface gives the case a subtle matte texture, offset by a mirror-polished bezel edge that adds visual depth and plays beautifully with light. Buyers can choose between natural titanium or a black DLC-coated variant, offering two distinct personalities within the same silhouette.
Despite its bold look, the case measures a balanced 38.50 mm in diameter, 43 mm lug-to-lug, and 12 mm in thickness, making it surprisingly wearable on a wide range of wrists. With 50 meters of water resistance, it provides a modest level of protection suitable for daily use, although the watch is supplied with a nubuck leather strap and pin buckle that may not be ideal for aquatic activities.
Transparent Architecture and Vertical Display
A hallmark of the Purity Curvy line is its open-worked dial, and the HMS Mirror Titanium delivers with a vertically aligned skeletonized layout that emphasizes movement architecture over dial decoration. Positioned at the base of the display is the escapement, suspended beneath a trio of scalloped bridges that are bead-blasted and finished by hand with traditional anglage techniques.
Above the escapement, twin barrels serve as the power source, while the central display is divided into overlapping minute, hour, and small seconds tracks available in different shades, each marked by faceted Dauphine-style hands with brushed surfaces and polished bevels. The brand’s signature crown at 12 o’clock completes the symmetrical layout and adds a distinct visual anchor.
ArtyA also offers the choice of a transparent caseback or a polished solid rear, depending on the buyer’s preference—either to showcase the intricate movement or to add an extra layer of mystique.
The In-House “Stairway to Heaven” movement
Powering the watch is ArtyA’s in-house Stairway to Heaven movement—a name inspired by the tiered, architectural layout of the mechanism. Designed and manufactured entirely by ArtyA, this hand-wound caliber contains 134 components including 22 jewels, operating at a brisk 4Hz (28,800vph).
The movement features a 72-hour power reserve, thanks to its double-barrel configuration, and presents a visually clean and balanced aesthetic despite its complexity. The escapement mounted on stepped bridges takes center stage, not only as a technical feature but as a kinetic sculpture within the case.

ArtyA will limit production of the Purity Curvy HMS Mirror Titanium to just 99 pieces worldwide, making it a rare acquisition for collectors who appreciate both high watchmaking and avant-garde design.
