Five New Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series
Since its inception in 2020, Seiko’s Presage Sharp Edged Series presents a line of refined watches with mechanical movement and modern style. Now Seiko expands the collection to five new models.
All new models share with the existing ones the hemp leaf dial. Among the new models, we can find a limited edition GMT, two open-heart movements and two multi-hand dials with power reserve, day and date display.
The new GMT, which comes in a 42mm stainless steel case, features a blue bezel with ceramic insert and 24-hour scale that works in partnership with the central GMT hand. Inside, the textured dial follows the tone of the bezel in blue, featuring an inner ring with a minute scale divided in blue and white tones representing night and day hours, a power reserve display at 9 1/2 o’clock, a date indicator at 6 o’clock, plated indexes and hands filled with Lumibrite. Inside, it is powered by the Caliber 6R64 that offers up to 45 hours of power reserve.
The watch will be available from July 2022 at the brand’s official boutiques and retailers limited to 900 units and at the recommended price of €1,540.

Two of these new additions come with an open heart movement and therefore constitute a first for the series. Each of the dials comes in a traditional Japanese colour. Shironeri, white dial on SPB309 and Aisumi, blue dial on SPB311, with the first one presenting accents in silver and the second in gold, as already mentioned in both watches it is possible to observe the beat of the escapement through the opening dial at the 9 o’clock. Inside, they are powered by the Caliber 6R38, which offers an interesting 70 hours of power reserve. The watches are offered with either a stainless steel bracelet or a brown leather strap for the models with a white and blue dial respectively.
