Five Classic Cars spotted in TV series

Today we bring five classic cars drove by actors in television series and some well-known to the public.

And starting from the oldest to the most recent, we started with the famous “Dallas” TV series of the 80s, having premiered in 1978 and extending until 1991, totalling 14 seasons, the plot of the show is around the Texas family Ewings that owns the Southfork cattle ranch and the “Ewing Oil”, and the drama is around of the power struggles. In the TV series, the main protagonists are the Ewings brothers, JR Ewing the eldest of the brothers starring the late Larry Hagman and his younger brother Bobby Ewing starring the actor Patrick Duffy and it is the latter that we talk about as he drove a red Mercedes 380 SL on the show.

The Mercedes 380 SL is part of the Mercedes R107 line and was produced between 1971 and 1989, with the North American market being the destination of more than half of the total units produced by the German brand.

The second TV series we bring is also from the ’80s and is “Miami Vice”, the series reports the daily lives of two Miami police detectives involved in the fight against drug trafficking and corruption, the two protagonists are James “Sonny” Crockett starring Don Johnson and Ricardo Tubbs played by Philip Michael Thomas. In the TV series James “Sonny” Crockett drives one of the most beautiful Ferraris produced, a 1972 Daytona Spyder GTS4.

Officially this is the Ferrari 365 and the version GTS4 was produced only between 1971 and 1973 and the number of units produced was only 122 units. An interesting curiosity, for a long time it was believed that the series car was indeed a Ferrari Daytona GTS4, however, later it was revealed that it was a replica built on the basis of a Corvette C3, which does not remove the shinning of the Ferrari Daytona in the show.

From and forward the third season of the show, “Sonny” starts to drive another Ferrari model, the famous Ferrari 512 TR better known as the Testarossa, this model was produced between 1984 and 1996 and left the fans of Scuderia Ferrari crazy about.

We have now entered the 90s, and we now speak of the teenager TV series “Beverly Hills 90210”, it is a drama that tells the life of a group of teenagers in the prestigious Beverly Hills neighbourhood of Los Angeles, the show unfolds over 10 seasons throughout the 90s. It is in the show that we find not one, not two but three classics, one driven by the character Dylan Mckay played by Luke Perry, who drives a Porsche 356B Speedster, this model was produced between 1948 and 1965 and the concerned version (356B) produced between 1959 and 1963.

The second classic of the show is a Ford Mustang driven by the character Brandon Walsh starring Jason Priestley, this version was part of the first generation and was produced between 1964 and 1973.

The third and last classic of the TV series is driven by an actress, the only woman that we bring in this article, it is the character Kelly Taylor played by Jennie Garth and it is possible to see her drive a BMW 325i Cabrio E30 through the streets of Beverly Hills.

This model is part of the BMW 03 Series E30 that was produced between 1982 and 1994 and is in our opinion one of the most beautiful 03 Series produced by BMW, the version in question (325i) was produced between 1985 and 1993.

We have now passed the fourth TV series chosen and we are on our way to 2011, the TV show is “Suits” where the main character Harvey Specter starring by Gabriel Macht, who wears the skin of a prestigious lawyer accustomed to winning his cases in the bustling New York City, the series had 9 seasons have been the last in 2019, during the various seasons it is possible to see Harvey driving at least three classics, in 2011 as well as in the seasons 3 and 9 it is possible to see he driving a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT, on which we have already had the opportunity speaking about it.

In 2014 it is possible to see he driving a Jaguar E-Type roadster, this model was produced between 1961 and 1975.

And in 2017 we can see Harvey driving a Ferrari Daytona on which we have also talked about before.

The last TV series that we bring is “Jack Ryan”, which so far has had two seasons, the first and 2018 and the second last year, the show develops around an FBI analyst Jack Ryan starring John Krasinski who is forced to go to the ground to resolve the situation, in the first season the plot leads to the Middle East and in the second season to Venezuela, but it is in the first season that we see him driving a BMW 2002 tii, which unfortunately it only appears once and very quickly, however, we could saw it and we are happy for that.

The model is a BMW 02 series produced between 1966 and 1977 and the version in question (2002 tii) was produced between 1971 and 1975.
