Fender x Timex Automatic: A Mechanical Tribute To The Telecaster
To celebrate 80 years of Fender and 75 years of the iconic Telecaster, Fender and Timex have created a special-edition automatic watch inspired by one of the instruments that helped shape modern music. With its distinctive wood-grain dial, contrasting bezel and guitar-inspired details, the timepiece translates the character of the Telecaster into a mechanical watch.

A Dial with a Musical Identity
The watch is housed in a 41 mm stainless-steel case with accentuated bevels and a mainly polished finish. This creates a contrast with the mainly brushed finish of the screwed-open caseback, giving the watch a combination of reflective and satin surfaces.

At 3 o’clock, the wide crown features a knurled profile that allows for better gripping. It is also marked with the Fender logo, adding a subtle reference to the brand behind the collaboration.
The butterscotch blonde wood-grain dial is the most obvious connection to the Telecaster. Its warm colour and visible grain evoke the character of the guitar’s finish, while the Fender logo reinforces the connection to the instrument.

Surrounding the dial is a bi-colour 60-minute bezel, with the upper half painted black and the lower half yellow. The scale typography is painted in the opposite colour of the background on each half, creating a distinctive contrast and making the timing scale easy to distinguish.
The dial also features applied hour markers, luminous hands and a date window at 3 o’clock. A custom Telecaster second hand adds another recognizable detail to the display, while the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating helps maintain a clear view of the dial.
A Mechanical Movement with Practical Functions
Powering the watch is the 21-jewel Miyota 8215 automatic movement. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the calibre offers up to 42 hours of power reserve and includes both hacking and hand-winding functions.

The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback, which is accented with a Telecaster 75th Anniversary logo. This provides a view of the mechanical mechanism while reinforcing the anniversary theme.
With 200 metres of water resistance, the watch is designed to offer practical everyday versatility, combining a robust specification with the traditional appeal of an automatic movement.
A NATO-Style Leather Strap
Completing the design is a black leather NATO-style strap crafted by S.B. Foot Tanning Co. Its understated appearance contrasts with the warm tones of the dial and the yellow-and-black bezel, allowing the Telecaster-inspired details to remain the focal point.

The strap also adds another layer of craftsmanship to the collaboration, bringing together the traditions of guitar making and watchmaking in a single design.
