Farer Updates Its World Timer Collection With New Dials And Finishes
British watch brand Farer continues to build on its travel-inspired lineup with the latest evolution of its World Timer collection. First introduced in 2019, the World Timer represents Farer’s technical interpretation of a classic complication, combining practical functionality with a layered, detail-driven dial design. The newest versions introduce updated case finishes, revised city listings, and a modified automatic movement.

World Time Display and Functionality
The Farer World Timer uses a rotating 24-hour disc positioned at the center of the dial, completing one full rotation every 24 hours. This disc works in conjunction with a bidirectional internal bezel, which is controlled by a secondary crown located at 10 o’clock. The bezel is printed with the names of 24 global cities.

To read world time, the wearer aligns their chosen reference city with the 6 o’clock marker. Once set, the time in the remaining 23 cities can be read against the 24-hour disc, which clearly distinguishes daytime and nighttime hours through contrasting color blocks.
Dial Construction and Design Details
The collection includes two dial variants: the dark green Foxe and the newly introduced burgundy Thorne. The Foxe is now paired with a gold PVD-coated case, while the Thorne is available in either stainless steel or gold PVD.

Each dial is concave in profile and constructed using a notably high number of manufacturing steps. The outer chapter ring features a guilloché pattern, followed by polishing and a clear lacquer coating. Arabic numerals and hour markers are produced using Lumicast, a solid ceramic material infused with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions.
The central 24-hour disc uses light-colored segments for daytime hours and darker tones—green or burgundy depending on the model—for nighttime. A discreet circular date window is integrated into the chapter ring, revealing a color-matched date disc. At the center of the dial, raised longitude and latitude lines form a world map motif, with the Northern Hemisphere highlighted in a contrasting shade.

Additional design elements include a bright orange lacquered tip on the seconds hand, shaped as Farer’s signature “A,” and coordinated color accents across the bezel text, date display, and luminous inserts on the hands.
Case and Movement
The stainless steel and PVD-coated cases measure 39 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 11 mm and a lug-to-lug length of 45 mm. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters. The case construction alternates between finishes, combining polished surfaces, brushed satin elements, and microblasted recessed flanks to create visual contrast.

Through the sapphire caseback, the automatic Sellita SW331-2 movement is visible. This caliber is based on the SW330 platform but modified specifically for the World Timer configuration, replacing the traditional GMT hand with the rotating 24-hour disc. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and offers a power reserve of approximately 56 hours. The rotor is customized and color-matched to the world map theme found on the dial.
Pricing and Availability
The Farer World Timer Thorne with a stainless steel case is priced at € 1,725, while both the Foxe Gold PVD and Thorne Gold PVD versions retail for € 1,800. All models are available exclusively through Farer’s official website and can be configured with a variety of strap options.
