Farer Unveils The Racing Chronograph In Volante, Libre And Gara Editions
British watchmaker Farer has unveiled its new Racing Chronograph collection, a trio of motorsport-inspired chronographs that combine vintage racing influences with the brand’s signature use of colour. The new lineup arrives with a redesigned case, refined proportions, and three distinctive dial executions named Volante, Libre, and Gara.
A New Case Design
One of the most significant updates in the Racing Chronograph collection is the completely redesigned stainless steel case. Farer has replaced the previous tonneau-shaped architecture with a more traditional round case featuring angular lugs, resulting in a more compact and versatile profile.
Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case measures 38.50 mm in diameter, making it 2.50 mm smaller than its predecessor. The revised design also allows for a more elaborate combination of brushed and polished surfaces.

Protecting the dial is a domed sapphire crystal treated with several layers of anti-reflective coating on the interior. Surrounding the crystal is a bi-directional rotating bezel fitted with a ceramic insert, colour-matched to each respective model.
The case offers 100 metres of water resistance and is completed by a sapphire exhibition caseback and Farer’s signature crown featuring a decorative bronze cap insert.
Three Distinct Racing-Inspired Variants
The Racing Chronograph collection is available in three versions, each drawing inspiration from a different aspect of motorsport culture.
Volante
The Volante features a predominantly blue colour scheme. Its sky-blue sunburst dial is paired with cream-coloured engine-turned sub-dials and framed by a blue ceramic bezel insert.

Additional highlights include an orange central chronograph seconds hand and a yellow sector on the 30-minute counter, creating strong visual contrast. Gloss navy-blue hands further distinguish the model from more conventional chronograph designs.
Libre
Named after Formula Libre racing, the Libre adopts a bold burgundy theme. The watch is characterised by its oversized “Big Eye” minute counter finished in burgundy and accented by a light blue hand.

A textured white dial serves as the backdrop for burgundy-coated hands and hour markers, while the matching burgundy ceramic bezel incorporates an alternative scale design featuring alternating two-hour markers rather than a full set of numerals.
Gara
The Gara takes inspiration from the iconic British Racing Green colour traditionally associated with British motorsport.

Its silver sunburst dial contrasts sharply with green sub-dials and a matching green ceramic bezel insert. A bright yellow chronograph hand adds a striking visual accent, while green printing throughout the dial reinforces the motorsport-inspired aesthetic.
Powered By A Manual-Wind Sellita Movement
All three Racing Chronograph models are powered by the Sellita SW510 M b, a manual-wind chronograph calibre visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback.

Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), the movement provides a generous power reserve of approximately 63 hours. Farer uses the Elaboré-grade version of the calibre, which benefits from enhanced finishing and tighter regulation compared to standard-grade movements.
Strap Options And Availability
The Racing Chronograph collection can be ordered on either a leather strap or a colour-matched rubber strap. The latter is available in blue, burgundy, or green depending on the model and further enhances the individual character of each watch.
The new Farer Racing Chronograph collection is available through Farer and its authorised retailers, with a retail price of € 2,150.
