Farer Lissom: A Fresh Take On Hand-Wound Elegance
Farer introduces the Lissom Collection, a refined series of hand-wound dress watches characterized by slim proportions, vibrant dials, and meticulous detailing. Designed for elegance and everyday comfort, the Lissom offers a fresh interpretation of traditional formal timepieces while remaining true to Farer’s design ethos.
Case & Construction
The Lissom models are housed in a finely proportioned 38 mm stainless steel case, with a notably thin profile measuring just 7.95 mm in thickness. Lug-to-lug length is 42.80 mm, ensuring a compact and balanced fit on most wrists. The case features a brushed midsection with pronounced contouring, offset by polished lugs and bezel for added visual contrast. The push-pull crown at 3 o’clock integrates a distinctive bronze cap engraved with Farer’s logo—an element familiar to followers of the brand. The watch is equipped with a flat sapphire crystal on the front and a transparent caseback showcasing the movement. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.

Dial Designs & Model Variants
At launch, the Lissom collection includes five references, each named after renowned figures in the field of botany: Agnes Arber, Isaac Bayley Balfour, George Forrest, John Lindley, and Daniel Solander. Each model features a satin-finished dial paired with a recessed small seconds sub-dial positioned at 6 o’clock. A sunken minute track encircles the dial, with numerals marking five-minute intervals. The hands and applied Arabic numerals are treated with Lumicast—a blend of ceramic and Super-LumiNova—for enhanced legibility in low light. The hands themselves are filled with X2 grade Super-LumiNova for stronger luminescence.

The Lindley model showcases a rich deep purple dial paired with a powder blue sub-dial, further accented by a blue minute track, pink numerals, and a small seconds hand in matching pink. The Balfour reference stands apart with its crisp white dial complemented by electric blue hands and indices, offset by warm grey detailing. Meanwhile, the Arber offers a bold visual punch with its combination of vivid red and purple tones. The Forrest variant embraces a more dynamic look with a teal dial highlighted by orange accents, while the Solander reference opts for a restrained monochrome grey palette with subtle tonal contrasts. Each model is distinguished by a uniquely colored small seconds hand, giving each timepiece its own character.

Movement
Powering the Lissom collection is the La Joux-Perret D100 calibre, a manually wound movement based on the reliable ETA/Peseux 7001 architecture. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 50-hour power reserve—an upgrade over the original specification. The movement is decorated to Farer’s soigné standard, featuring polished anglage, blued screws, and intricately engraved bridges. Through the exhibition caseback, the phrase “British Design × Swiss Made” is proudly displayed, encapsulating the spirit of the brand.

Strap & Price
Each watch in the collection comes paired with a high-quality leather strap matched to the dial’s color palette. The straps are fitted with quick-release spring bars, allowing for easy swaps, and are secured with a traditional stainless steel pin buckle. The Farer Lissom is priced at € 1,350, offering a compelling option for those seeking a refined and colorful take on the classic dress watch.
