European Exclusive: Seiko Prospex Speedtimer ‘Motoring’ With Cream Dial
Seiko renews its annual tradition of releasing a European-exclusive edition of the Prospex Solar Speedtimer with the introduction of the 2025 “Motoring” model. Following on from the “Speedometer” in 2023 and the “Factory Red” in 2024, this year’s edition embraces a retro automotive spirit, with details inspired by vintage European cars.

Design and Case
The Speedtimer ‘Motoring’ is presented in a 39 mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 13.30 mm, a size first introduced in 2024 for this series. The case features smooth, rounded lines with circular brushing that enhances its sporty aesthetic. A steel tachymeter bezel and prominent chronograph pushers complete the design, reinforcing its racing-inspired character. With 100 meters of water resistance, it is practical for day-to-day wear in a variety of settings.

Dial and Strap Details
At the center of the design is a panda-style dial, combining a cream sunray base with black subdials. Seiko notes that the warm hue is inspired by the paintwork of classic European cars, a departure from the crisp white found in more traditional panda chronographs. For me personally, I’ve always preferred cream dials to pure white ones, as they bring a subtle vintage charm and in this case, the choice feels particularly successful.

The watch also comes with a thoughtful strap package. In addition to the 3-link steel bracelet with a folding clasp, Seiko includes a beige perforated leather rally strap with a steel buckle. Its design recalls the interiors of retro sports cars, and paired with the cream dial, it gives the watch a distinctly nostalgic appeal. With only 500 units produced, I wouldn’t be surprised if this combination of design, exclusivity, and affordability makes it vanish quickly from the market.
Movement and Functionality
Powering the Speedtimer ‘Motoring’ is the V192 solar chronograph movement, a highly practical caliber that charges through both natural and artificial light. Once fully charged, it runs for up to six months and maintains accuracy of ± 15 seconds per month. The movement also provides a 24-hour indicator, chronograph functionality, and a date display, ensuring everyday reliability in addition to its motorsport-inspired looks.
Exclusivity and Availability
The Prospex Speedtimer ‘Motoring’ European Exclusive is limited to just 500 pieces, making it the most exclusive release of the series so far. Earlier editions were produced in larger numbers — 3,000 units in 2023 and 2,300 in 2024 — emphasizing just how scarce this model will be.

Available exclusively through Seiko’s European boutiques and official online store, the Speedtimer ‘Motoring’ is priced at GBP 730, maintaining accessibility while offering true collectability.
