Engineering Meets Elegance In The MING 20.01 Series 5
Independent watchmaker MING continues to redefine the boundaries of contemporary horology with the 20.01 Series 5 Chronograph, a timepiece that seamlessly merges avant-garde design with technical mastery. With only 25 pieces produced, this chronograph is a rare and meticulously crafted expression of what modern independent watchmaking can achieve.

Sophisticated Construction with Hybrid Materials
The 41.50 mm case is a multi-material construction combining 316L stainless steel and grade 5 titanium, incorporating a total of 34 individual components. Its distinctive structure features a DLC-coated black titanium mid-case that contrasts sharply with the brushed and polished surfaces surrounding it. Complementing the case are the flared lugs, a hallmark of MING’s visual identity, which offer both ergonomic wear and architectural presence.

Adding to the contrast-rich palette are the blue PVD-coated chronograph pushers, located at the traditional 2 and 4 o’clock positions. At 14.20 mm thick, the case is bold but well-proportioned, especially considering the complexity of the movement it houses.
A Dial That Redefines Depth and Texture
The dial of the 20.01 Series 5 is laser-milled from a solid titanium block, then treated with a blue CVD coating that creates an intricate radial pattern, radiating from the center like turbine blades. This highly detailed surface evokes a sense of mechanical dynamism rarely seen in chronograph dials.

Time is displayed via MING’s signature skeleton hands, which are filled with Super-LumiNova for exceptional nighttime readability. Additional luminous elements are engraved into the underside of the top sapphire crystal and filled with the brand’s proprietary Polar White lume. This dual-layer luminous system enhances both function and depth, providing a visually striking experience under low-light conditions.
The AgenGraphe Movement: Innovative Chronograph Architecture
At the heart of the watch is the calibre 6361.M1, developed in collaboration with Agenhor and based on the acclaimed AgenGraphe platform. This manually wound movement reimagines traditional chronograph layouts by displaying all key indications—including running time and chronograph minutes and seconds—via centrally mounted hands, eliminating the need for sub-dials and resulting in a cleaner, more symmetrical dial design.

The movement is engineered with a proprietary clutch system and an in-house regulator, ensuring smooth operation and reliable chronograph engagement. It also features twin skeletonized barrels that together deliver a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
Viewed through the sapphire caseback, the movement reveals a highly refined level of finishing. The bridges are coated in 5N rose gold, hand-beveled, and contrast beautifully with the straight-brushed functional components. The visible interplay of levers, cams, gears, and polished screws offers a vivid display of mechanical choreography in motion.
Strap Options
The watch is paired with two strap options to suit different styles. The first is a dark blue Alcantara strap, secured with MING’s innovative ‘flying blade’ tuck buckle, which eliminates the need for conventional strap loops and maintains a streamlined profile on the wrist. The second is a black FKM rubber strap, offering a sportier and more casual alternative without compromising comfort or elegance. Both straps are equipped with quick-release mechanisms, allowing for easy interchangeability.
