Doxa Presents Six New Whitepearl Watches
While many brands have been animating their collections with the introduction of a palette of different colours in their dials and which has left their audience with their heads spinning, other brands are doing the opposite way and Doxa is an example of that, if there is any aspect for which the brand has been recognized since its inception is its colourful dials.
Last year, when the “Whitepearl” debuted in its SUB 200 collection, it would probably have been far from imagining such a good reception from its public in the face of a white monochromatic dial with black accents. So now Doxa decided to extend the Whitepearl to all its collections, with the exception of the SUB 200 C-GRAPH.
Of the five new Whitepearl models, the SUB 300 Carbon is by far the most spectacular, as it receives a dial completely filled with luminescence material in green that contrasts with the luminescence material in blue of the hands, hour markers and dot at 12 o’clock. If the SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl receives enough light during the day, at night it provides a true festival of luminescence, whose black carbon case helps a lot to accentuate this effect.
The watch is offered with a rubber strap in white or black, and despite a natural tendency to go to the conventional black, I must confess that I’m starting to get used to white and this particular model with a black case seems to work very well.
All the other four (which are actually five) Whitepearl models – SUB 300, SUB 300T, SUB 600T and SUB 1500T, like the SUB 200 come with a stainless steel case and bezel, with white dial, hour markers and hands all filled with luminescence material, as happens with the dot or inverted triangle (on the SUB 600T) at 12 o’clock, and are offered with a white rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet. It should also be noted that the SUB 600T Whitepearl, like the rest of the SUB 600T collection, is divided into two variants, with one of the Whitepearl variants coming with a white ceramic bezel insert, instead of the usual black ceramic insert of the other variants, as an alternative to the collection’s traditional full-steel bezel.
The prices of the new Whitepearls generally follow the prices of the other variants of the respective collections, such as the SUB 300T which comes with a price of € 1,850, the SUB 300 at € 2,450, the SUB 600T at € 1,350, the SUB 600T with ceramic bezel insert at €1,450 and the SUB 1500T at €2,350. All prices shown refer to the option with a rubber strap, with prices increasing by €40 if the stainless steel bracelet alternative is chosen instead.
The SUB 300 Carbon with the full luminescence dial is slightly more expensive than the other variants, which is understandable, at €3,890.
Definitely, the white dials and the respective white bracelets that accompany them seem to increasingly conquer their audience and so it will not be surprising that with the approach of summer the new winds bring more white watches.
