Ressence has unveiled the exclusive Type 8 Indigo, a limited-edition timepiece that redefines simplicity through innovative design and artisanal craftsmanship. First introduced in 2022, the Type 8 stands as the brand’s most minimalist model, offering only hour and minute functions powered by Ressence’s patented Orbital Convex System (ROCS). This oleo-filled dial system features rotating sub-dials that dynamically display the time with fluid precision.
The Type 8 Indigo showcases a Grade 5 Titanium case measuring 42.90mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. Its polished finish, combined with the absence of lugs and a traditional crown, ensures a seamless and symmetrical aesthetic. A domed sapphire crystal protects the intricate dial, while the grooved rotating case back serves as both a winding mechanism and a tool for setting the time.
What sets this timepiece apart is its dial, crafted using Indigo-dyed silk threads from Japan. This ‘Arts & Métiers’ approach creates a captivating play of navy and vivid blue tones, complemented by a grey outer ring that marks the minutes and a sub-dial for the hours. Both hands, framed in grey, are coated with blue-glowing Super-LumiNova for optimal legibility in low light.
Beneath the surface, the watch houses a customized ETA 2892/2 automatic movement paired with the ROCS 8 module. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it provides a 36-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance. The timepiece is paired with a grey Saffiano leather strap and a titanium Ardillon buckle, exuding understated elegance.
