Depancel Unveils The Serie R01 DAMS Lucas Oil Limited Edition
French watch brand Depancel has unveiled a new limited-edition model celebrating its partnership with the motorsport team DAMS Lucas Oil for the 2026 season. The new Serie R01 Depancel x DAMS Lucas Oil Limited Edition blends the brand’s automotive-inspired design language with visual elements drawn from the team’s Formula racing machines.
A Case Inspired by Classic Automotive Design
The watch is built around Depancel’s distinctive Serie R01 case, whose shape draws inspiration from the grilles of vintage sports cars. The stainless steel case measures 36 mm wide, 43 mm tall without the lugs (50 mm overall length), and 12.90 mm thick, offering a compact yet sporty presence on the wrist.
Brushed surfaces are complemented by polished accents, enhancing the dynamic geometry of the case. The design also incorporates angled edges at 6 and 12 o’clock to improve wrist ergonomics. On the right side, straight crown guards add protection to the crown, while the left side features a commemorative plaque referencing the collaboration.
A beveled sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the watch offers 50 meters of water resistance, sufficient for everyday wear.
Racing-Inspired Dial Design
The dial is where the motorsport connection becomes most apparent. Finished in PVD blue, the multi-layer construction incorporates several textures and levels that give the watch a technical, instrument-like aesthetic.
The upper portion of the dial features vertical striping and applied markers, while the central section is sunray-brushed, creating contrast and depth. Automotive influences are evident in the overall layout, which echoes the appearance of racing gauges.
Two black-framed sub-dials display calendar indications, while the dial also features the DAMS logo and a vertical tricolour stripe referencing the team’s racing livery. Surrounding the center is an angled minute and seconds track, reinforcing the dashboard-inspired design.
For improved legibility in low-light conditions, both the hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova C1.
Miyota Automatic Movement
Powering the watch is the Miyota 9122 automatic movement, visible through the transparent caseback. Operating at a 4Hz frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour), the movement delivers approximately 40 hours of power reserve. It also provides a complete calendar display, including date, day, and month, a complication that adds practical functionality to the racing-inspired design.
Two Strap Options
The watch is offered with two interchangeable 20 mm straps, a blue ventilated FKM rubber strap with a stainless steel pin buckle for a modern, sport-focused look, and a perforated blue bull leather strap, giving the watch a more vintage motorsport character, both equipped with quick-release spring bars.
Limited Availability
The Depancel Serie R01 DAMS Lucas Oil Limited Edition will be produced in 200 individually numbered pieces. The model is priced at € 895, with deliveries scheduled to begin on March 9, 2026.
