Dennison ALD x Collectability: A Modern Tribute To Mid-Century Elegance
In its latest release, British heritage brand Dennison introduces a new collaborative model in partnership with Collectability, the watch platform founded by noted horological expert John Reardon. This limited-time release showcases a refined expression of 1960s design through the distinctive ALD case profile and a uniquely detailed dial, all at an accessible price.

Reviving Legacy with a Contemporary Twist
Founded in 1874, Dennison made its name as one of the UK’s most significant watch case manufacturers, supplying robust and elegant housings to prestigious names including Omega, Longines, and Rolex. Among its notable contributions is the “Aquatite” case used on Smiths watches that accompanied the 1953 British Everest expedition.
Revived in recent years, Dennison’s modern catalogue focuses on streamlined dress watches built with heritage sensibility and clean, geometric profiles. Central to this rebirth is the ALD case – a cushion-shaped design that recalls mid-century aesthetics, executed with modern precision and compact proportions.
The ALD Case: Distinct Form, Minimalist Dimensions
The ALD x Collectability Edition retains the classic proportions familiar to fans of the ALD series. The stainless steel and gold PVD models both feature a 33.65 mm wide cushion-shaped case, measuring 37 mm lug-to-lug and just 6.05 mm in thickness. A recessed crown ensures the smooth lines of the case remain uninterrupted, further enhancing the watch’s refined profile. These dimensions offer versatility across wrist sizes while embracing a tasteful, vintage-inspired wearability.

A Dial with Depth: Two-Tone Sunray Finish and Stepped Design
A standout feature of this edition is its two-tone sunray dial, which forgoes any visible branding. At the center, an electric blue medallion forms the focal point, surrounded by a faded blue outer ring. The transition between the two is marked by a stepped contour, accentuated with a polished frame that matches the case material. This multi-layered effect enhances visual depth and plays elegantly with light, giving the watch a vibrant yet sophisticated character.

While the brand is often associated with its natural stone dial variants, this model takes a more minimalist route, offering visual complexity through finish and structure rather than material contrast.
Powered by Precision: Ronda Quartz Movement
Inside, the watch is powered by a Swiss-made Ronda quartz movement – a practical and slim caliber that keeps the profile of the watch ultra-thin while maintaining reliability and ease of use, placing aesthetic execution and accessibility at the forefront.
