Land Rover’s most extreme performance SUV just got a stealthy makeover. Introducing the Defender OCTA Black, a menacing new addition to the Defender lineup that blends peak off-road capability with unapologetic luxury — all dressed in black.
Finished in Narvik Black, the deepest black in the Defender paint palette, OCTA Black immediately stands out with a refined gloss finish. For those seeking a more rugged aesthetic, an optional Matte Protective Film is available. In total, over 30 exterior components have been darkened, including Satin Black scuff plates, gloss black exhaust tips, and black-finished underbody elements. Even the iconic Land Rover grille badge has gone dark, with subtle silver script adding understated contrast.
Power is delivered by a 635PS 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8, backed by the brand’s cutting-edge 6D Dynamics suspension and a dedicated OCTA Mode for serious off-road performance. Whether on city streets or untamed terrain, this Defender is built to dominate.
Inside, the OCTA Black makes its mark with the introduction of Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather with Kvadrat on the Performance Seats — a first for Defender. The interior is finished with details like Carpathian Grey accents, a Satin Black Cross Car Beam, and an optional Chopped Carbon Fibre trim that elevates its rugged luxury vibe.
A standout feature is the Body and Soul Seats (BASS), developed in collaboration with SUBPAC. This innovative system lets front-seat passengers not only hear the music but feel it, thanks to immersive vibro-acoustic tech paired with a 700W Meridian Surround Sound System.
Defender OCTA Black joins the standard OCTA, which now comes in two new colours — Sargasso Blue and Borasco Grey — alongside Charente Grey and Petra Copper. A striking Patagonia White Matte Wrap will also be offered in late 2025.
