De Bethune’s Night Hawk Brings The Cosmos To The DB27
The De Bethune DB27 collection has long represented the brand’s more restrained approach to haute horlogerie—pairing advanced engineering with a wearable, contemporary design. The new DB27 “Night Hawk,” created in collaboration with EsperLuxe, builds on that foundation with a distinctive aesthetic while preserving the technical DNA that defines the model line.

Lightweight Engineering Meets Ergonomic Innovation
Housed in a 43 mm case with a slim 9 mm profile, the DB27 Night Hawk is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, a material prized for its strength-to-weight ratio. The finishing alternates between polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing the case’s sculptural presence without compromising its understated appeal.

A defining feature remains De Bethune’s patented floating lugs—here executed in flame-blued titanium with a matte finish. These articulated lugs adapt dynamically to the wrist, improving comfort and wearability despite the watch’s generous diameter. The caseband is adorned with the brand’s signature microlight pattern, adding subtle texture.
Dual sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating ensure clarity on both sides, while offering a view of the movement through the caseback. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.
A Dial Defined by Contrast and Craft
The standout feature of this edition lies in its dial. For the first time within the DB27 collection, De Bethune integrates its “Starry Sky” motif in flame-blued titanium. This central disc depicts a celestial map aligned to a specific time and location (marking the beginning of the EsperLuxe partnership), bringing a poetic dimension rooted in astronomical precision.

Encircling this cosmic display is a more traditional layout: a chapter ring with Roman numerals paired with a peripheral minutes track in Arabic numerals. This layered approach creates a clear visual hierarchy, balancing artistic expression with legibility.
The hands follow De Bethune’s signature style—mirror-polished and two-tone, with blued bases and silvered tips—ensuring visibility against the richly textured background. A central seconds hand completes the display.
In-House Mechanics: The AUTOV2 Calibre
Powering the DB27 Night Hawk is the in-house AUTOV2 automatic movement, visible through the sapphire caseback. Comprising 217 components, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.

The calibre incorporates several of the brand’s proprietary innovations. These include a titanium balance wheel fitted with white gold inserts to optimise inertia and improve thermal stability, as well as a patented balance spring with a flat terminal curve designed for enhanced precision.
The oscillating weight, constructed from titanium and tungsten, is engineered for efficient winding while maintaining visual consistency with the movement’s architecture.
Limited Production and Availability
The DB27 Night Hawk for EsperLuxe is delivered on a blue fabric strap with a titanium pin buckle, accompanied by an additional bespoke strap. Production is strictly limited to 10 pieces, plus one prototype, reinforcing its exclusivity within the DB27 lineup.

Priced at USD 70,000, the watch is available directly through EsperLuxe, both in-store and online.
This collaboration highlights how the DB27 platform continues to evolve—serving as a versatile base for technical innovation and artistic expression, while remaining true to De Bethune’s distinctive watchmaking philosophy.
