Czapek is set to make a statement at Watches and Wonders, the world’s largest watch show, with the introduction of its first Antarctique model featuring a tourbillon. This highly anticipated release marks a milestone for the brand’s luxury sports watch collection, bringing together cutting-edge horology and refined aesthetics.
The new Czapek Antarctique Tourbillon debuts alongside the in-house Caliber 9, a mechanical marvel equipped with a flying tourbillon. Housed in a 40.50mm stainless steel case with a sleek brushed finish, the watch maintains a balanced profile with an 11.50mm thickness. It features a sapphire crystal, a fluted crown with guards at 3 o’clock, an exhibition case back secured by four screws, and a 50-meter water resistance rating. While some may consider this level of resistance modest for a sports watch, the timepiece more than compensates with its exquisite craftsmanship.
One of the standout elements of this release is its striking dial, which showcases a Guilloché background in three captivating color options. The most exclusive among them is the limited-edition Secret Alloy variant, which features a natural silver-tone dial crafted from a unique blend of gold, platinum, palladium, and silver, with only 50 pieces available. The Glacier Blue edition boasts a blue PVD-coated finish, while the Phaton Sphere variant presents a luxurious gold PVD coating. The dial design includes three vertical circular cut-outs, with the flying tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock, a skeletonized bridge extending between 9 and 3 o’clock, and a reduced bridge situated between 11 and 1 o’clock. Enhancing its legibility, the watch incorporates a minute chapter ring with applied indexes, while the central hands and markers are filled with Super-LumiNova for optimal visibility.
Powering this exceptional timepiece is the new Caliber 9 automatic movement, composed of 191 components, including 20 jewels. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it delivers an impressive three-day power reserve.
