Credor Locomotive Returns: A Permanent Icon With A Green Twist
Almost a year after celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Locomotive design by the legendary Gérald Genta, Credor has reintroduced this remarkable timepiece as part of its permanent collection. The new Locomotive GCCR997 maintains the sophisticated essence of the limited edition revival but introduces a captivating green textured dial, evoking the semaphore signals used on railways.
The Locomotive GCCR997 features a meticulously crafted titanium case, measuring 38.80mm in width and 8.90mm in height. The distinctive hexagonal shape, true to the original design, boasts a refined finish with brushed surfaces and polished bevels. The wide hexagonal bezel is secured by six screws that mirror the internal geometric design, adding a bold architectural element. Enhancing its practicality, the watch includes a screw-down crown positioned at 4 o’clock, a sapphire crystal, a solid case back, and offers water resistance up to 100 meters.
One of the standout features of this reimagined Locomotive is its textured green dial, intricately patterned with replicated hexagons. These hexagons are adorned with oblique lines that alternate in direction, creating a visually dynamic honeycomb-like effect. Applied baton hour markers and hands filled with Lumibrite ensure excellent legibility, while a framed date window at 3 o’clock provides a practical touch. The minute track elegantly frames the dial, complemented by the Credor branding at noon and the “Automatic” inscription at 6 o’clock.
Powering the Locomotive GCCR997 is the reliable Caliber CR01 automatic movement. This 26-jewel mechanism operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of up to 45 hours, ensuring precise and enduring performance.
The integrated titanium bracelet, a hallmark of the Locomotive collection, features hexagon-shaped connecting links that seamlessly extend the watch’s geometric design language. The bracelet is secured with a three-fold clasp equipped with a push-button release for optimal comfort and security.
This elegant timepiece is set to make its debut in May, priced at €14,500. With its striking design, advanced craftsmanship, and rich heritage, the Credor Locomotive GCCR997 reaffirms its status as a timeless icon in the world of luxury watchmaking.
