Citizen ME Series Introduces Four New Watches
At the end of last week we announced the arrival of new Tissot PRX models and today we do the same about one of its main competitors, the Citizen ME Series which adds four new models to the collection.
It was in August last year that the Citizen NJ0150, an attractive watch with an integrated bracelet and colourful dials reminiscent of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, was made available for the first time in the European market months after being launched in the Asian, and on which we had the opportunity to talk about it here.
While the four new variants bring no fundamental changes, using the exact same 40mm diameter by 11.7mm thick stainless steel case and offering the same layout on the dial with indexes and hands filled with luminescent material and a date window cyclops, powered by Caliber 8210 with an automatic movement that operates at 21,600 Vph that offers up to 40 hours of power reserve, in addition to the new colours of the dial, highlighting the arrival of a textured dial and a golden variant.
As for new variants, the NJ0151-88M now comes with a light blue dial (…the “Tiffany” Blue dial fever is here to last), the NJ0151-88X comes with a gradient turquoise dial, the NJ0151 -88L which features a gradient dark blue textured dial and indices and hands filled with beige luminescent material and lastly the NJ0153-82X which features a gold case and bracelet and a red gradient dial with gold indexes.
Regarding prices, the three new models with a dial in different shades of blue are marked with a price of € 299 while the golden variant can be purchased for € 349.
Our Opinion
Like the Tissot PRX, the Citizen ME Series Model is undoubtedly a great value for money, even more so if we consider that it comes with a mechanical movement for less than half of the Tissot PRX. However, we cannot compare the Tissot Powermatc 80 with the Citizen’s Caliber 8210.
Among the four new variants, there is no doubt that the most desired by the general public will be the light blue one for known reasons, but for us, the one that stands out the most is the dark blue variant, which together with its textured dial and indexes beige seem to offer an attractive and interesting combination.
