Citizen Introduces Three Promaster Dive Automatic Now With Textured Dials
Citizen has just released three new Promaster Dive Automatics that features a textured dial for the first time.
Among the new references we have the NY0130-08E which comes with a textured black dial matching the bezel insert, and details on the yellow that include the chapter ring, the minute hand and the arrow-shape tip of the second’s hand, finally the watch comes attached to a black polyurethane strap.
The reference NY0136-52L features a textured blue dial like the bezel insert and the chapter ring, while here the second’s hand tip is painted in light blue, this model is offered with a steel bracelet matching the case.
Lastly among the new references we have the NY0137-09A whose steel case comes with a black coating, featuring a blue insert bezel and a polyurethane strap, fully luminous white textured dial, and unlike the other two models that feature applied hour indexes filled with white lume here, the indices are painted on the dial.
The new Citizen Dive have the same configuration as the rest of the collection, with a stainless steel case measuring 44mm in diameter and 12.8mm thick, unidirectional aluminium bezel, sapphire glass, screwed crown at 8 o’clock signed with Promaster logo, screw-in case back engraved with “Fugu” or if you prefer with the pufferfish and 200m water resistance ISO certified.
The textured dial features an asymmetrical pattern extending from the centre outwards, upon which sit hour markers, three central hands, a day-date window at 3 o’clock and the brand lettering at 12 o’clock and the Promaster logo followed by ” Automatic” and “DIvers 200m” at 6 o’clock.
Inside beats, Miyota’s Caliber 8204 with the hacking seconds function, operating at 21,600 Vph and offering up to 40 hours of power reserve.
Prices for the new Promaster range from $550 on the NY0130, to $595 on the NY0136 and end at $650 on the NY0137.
Our Thoughts
Citizen’s Promaster Dive line especially the automatic continues to be very underrated when compared to others, however, the brand offers excellent quality and is many times above its competition.
We highlight the beautiful textured dial which becomes another asset of the watch, in addition to the others already existing such as the alignment of the 12 o’clock index with the chapter ring and bezel which is rare in the competition and the quality of finishes shown.
It should also be noted that the watch, despite its 44mm diameter, which could scare a lot of people, continues to wear more like a 42mm, so in case of doubt, we recommend that you try it on your wrist first.
