Citizen Expands Series 8 With The Stunning NB6051-59L Limited Edition
Citizen expands its Series 8 831 collection with an exclusive limited-edition timepiece, the NB6051-59L, featuring a striking light blue dial. This release follows the previous models, the NB6050-51W with a green dial and the NB6059-57P with a champagne dial in a two-tone steel case. The new watch continues the collection’s signature faceted octagonal stainless steel case and H-shaped bracelet, embodying a bold yet refined aesthetic.
The 40mm stainless steel case showcases sharp angles, a predominantly brushed finish, and a polished bezel. Protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the dial presents an intricate hexagonal motif, with each hexagon containing six triangular pyramids that create a dynamic 3D effect when interacting with light. This design sets it apart from its predecessors, which featured intersecting rectangle motifs inspired by the Tokyo skyline and traditional Japanese symbols of prosperity. The applied hour markers and Dauphine hands are filled with Lumibrite for enhanced readability, while the date window is positioned next to the recessed crown at 3 o’clock. A black printed minute/second track complements the brand’s logo at noon, while the “Series 8” inscription and the “Automatic” designation sit at 6 o’clock, reinforcing the watch’s identity.
Powering the timepiece is Citizen’s in-house Caliber 9051 automatic movement, visible through the sapphire crystal case back. This movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (Vph) and delivers a power reserve of up to 42 hours. With 24 jewels and an accuracy of -10/+20 seconds per day, it also boasts an impressive resistance to magnetic fields up to 16,000 A/m, ensuring reliability in various environments. Completing the design is an H-shaped stainless steel bracelet that mirrors the case’s brushed finish, secured with a folding clasp engraved with Citizen’s signature.
