Citizen And Hypebeast Celebrate Milestones With A Limited Edition Zenshin Three-Hand
Among today’s growing category of affordable sports watches with integrated bracelets, the Citizen Zenshin has become one of the favourites. Its combination of lightweight titanium construction, sharp design and solar-powered convenience makes it one of the most compelling alternatives in the segment.

Citizen now gives the model an even more distinctive appearance with the introduction of the new Citizen x Hypebeast Zenshin Three-Hand, a limited edition that celebrates both the 50th anniversary of Citizen’s solar-powered watch technology and the 20th anniversary of the lifestyle and fashion platform Hypebeast.
Based on the Zenshin collection introduced in 2024, the new model combines Citizen’s lightweight titanium construction with a clean monochromatic aesthetic and the brand’s signature Eco-Drive technology.
Super Titanium Case and Bracelet
The watch features a 39.50 mm case paired with an integrated bracelet, both crafted from Citizen’s proprietary Super Titanium material. Compared to traditional stainless steel, Super Titanium offers improved scratch resistance while also being significantly lighter on the wrist.

For this edition, Citizen applies its Duratect Platinum surface hardening technology extensively throughout the case and bracelet, creating a bright silver appearance while enhancing durability for everyday wear.
Monochromatic Dial Design
The minimalist approach continues on the dial, which adopts a silver colour with a vertically brushed finish that interacts with light and complements the platinum-toned exterior.

One notable departure from the standard Zenshin Three-Hand models is the use of skeletonised hands instead of the luminescent-filled hands found across the regular collection. Combined with the monochromatic colour palette, the open-worked handset contributes to the cleaner and more refined appearance of the watch.
Applied hour markers preserve legibility while reinforcing the contemporary character of the design.
Details Honouring Hypebeast’s 20th Anniversary
Several subtle details distinguish this collaboration from the standard Zenshin Three-Hand models.
Most notable is the Arabic numeral “20” placed at the 4 o’clock position on the dial, replacing the traditional baton hour marker. Interestingly, the position naturally aligns with the 20-minute mark on the chapter ring, making it a subtle yet clever reference to Hypebeast’s twentieth anniversary without disrupting the symmetry of the design.

The commemorative theme continues on the caseback, where Hypebeast branding appears alongside the individual numbering of each watch.
Powered by Eco-Drive Caliber J800
Inside the case beats Citizen’s Eco-Drive Caliber J800, a solar-powered quartz movement that converts both natural and artificial light into energy.
The movement powers central hours, minutes and seconds hands while also providing day and date indications. Thanks to Eco-Drive technology, the watch eliminates the need for regular battery replacements, one of the features that has made the system a defining element of Citizen’s collections for decades.
Celebrating 50 Years of Solar Technology
Although Eco-Drive officially debuted in the 1990s, Citizen’s work with solar-powered watches dates back much further.

In 1976, the company introduced the Crystron Solar Cell, recognised as the world’s first solar-powered analogue quartz watch. The technology eventually evolved into Eco-Drive, which today remains one of Citizen’s most important innovations.
