Chronoswiss introduces a bold new chapter in its Open Gear ReSec series with the ReSec Snake Manufacture, a limited edition of 100 pieces that blends vivid aesthetics with high-end craftsmanship. Staying true to its regulator roots, the timepiece integrates traditional decorative techniques with a dynamic retrograde seconds complication, all enclosed in a visually arresting titanium case.

Regulator Layout with Retrograde Seconds

The dial architecture adheres to the brand’s signature regulator format: central minutes, hours positioned at 12 o’clock, and a retrograde seconds display spanning from 4 to 8 o’clock. The retrograde seconds hand sweeps a semi-circular arc and instantly snaps back to its starting point every 30 seconds, creating a kinetic visual highlight.

At the core of the watch’s appeal is its multi-level dial construction. The skeletonized bridges—functional and aesthetic—are affixed directly to the dial surface, allowing an open view of the movement’s mechanism beneath. These bridges not only enhance the depth but also highlight the mechanical artistry inside.

Titanium Case with Iridescent Coating

The 42 mm grade 5 titanium case is treated with an iridescent PVD finish, shifting hues between green and turquoise based on light and angle. Measuring 14.20 mm thick, the case retains Chronoswiss’ hallmark onion-shaped crown and knurled bezel and caseback, reinforcing its strong design identity. Both the front and back feature sapphire crystals, and the watch is rated for 100 metres of water resistance.

Handcrafted Dial with CVD and Guilloché

The dial’s base showcases a hand-guilloché pattern, meticulously crafted in-house, and then finished with a green CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) treatment that gives it an iridescent sheen. A suspended minute ring, fixed with ceramic luminous dots at five-minute intervals, surrounds the dial. The hour sub-dial, finished in blue and equipped with luminescent markers, adds to the color contrast. The retrograde seconds bridge at the base of the dial is emphasized by an orange-tipped hand, contributing to the vivid visual layering.

In-House Calibre Based on La Joux-Perret

Inside, the ReSec Snake Manufacture is powered by the Chronoswiss Calibre C.6005, based on a reliable La Joux-Perret automatic movement. Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph), the calibre delivers a 55-hour power reserve. The transparent caseback reveals the movement’s finishing, including radial Côtes de Genève and a partially skeletonized openworked rotor for added visual depth.

Completing the watch is a white rubber strap that complements the vibrant color scheme while ensuring comfortable wear. The Chronoswiss ReSec Snake Manufacture is limited to 100 pieces and is priced at CHF 14,900.
