Chronoswiss Introduces The Opus Dakar Sundown And The Pulse GMT Frosted Guilloché Gold
Swiss independent watchmaker Chronoswiss expands its collection with two precious metal creations that celebrate traditional craftsmanship through the extensive use of gold, distinctive dial treatments, and the brand’s signature blend of classical styling and contemporary mechanics.
The new Opus Dakar Sundown and Pulse GMT Frosted Guilloché Gold approach luxury from two very different perspectives. One combines red gold with stainless steel in a sporty skeletonized chronograph, while the other embraces an entirely gold construction paired with a newly developed dial finish.
Chronoswiss Opus Dakar Sundown
The Opus Dakar Sundown builds upon the architecture of the Opus Dakar chronograph while introducing a warmer and more luxurious personality through the addition of red gold elements.
Its 41 mm case combines stainless steel with red gold components, including the fluted bezel, onion-shaped crown, chronograph pushers, and caseback. The contrast between the precious metal accents and the steel middle case creates a distinctive bi-metal appearance that highlights several of the design signatures associated with the brand.
The watch retains the collection’s open-worked dial construction, revealing portions of the movement beneath while preserving the traditional chronograph layout. A central chronograph seconds hand works alongside a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour totalizer, delivering full elapsed-time measurement capabilities.
The dial itself features a brown CVD finish that interacts with the red gold case components to create a rich palette of copper and earth tones. Visible through the skeletonized sections are bridges and mechanical components decorated with traditional finishes including perlage and brushing.
Powering the watch is the automatic Chronoswiss Calibre C.741S, which provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours. The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback, allowing owners to appreciate the chronograph mechanism and decorative finishing.

Chronoswiss Pulse GMT Frosted Guilloché Gold
Taking a different direction, the Pulse GMT Frosted Guilloché Gold embraces an entirely gold case and introduces a new dial finishing technique to the collection.
The 41 mm case measures 13 mm in thickness and is crafted entirely from gold, emphasizing the model’s premium positioning within the Pulse GMT lineup. The warm tone of the case is contrasted by a silver-colored dial, creating an elegant interpretation of the classic salmon-dial aesthetic.
The main highlight of the watch is its newly developed Frosted Guilloché dial finish. The dial first undergoes traditional guilloché engraving before receiving a carefully controlled sandblasting treatment. The resulting texture softens reflections and creates a more diffused interaction with light while preserving the depth and character of the engraved pattern underneath.
The Pulse GMT is designed for travelers and features a dual-time display layout. Central hands indicate local time, while separate displays provide a 12-hour indication at 3 o’clock and a 24-hour reference display at 9 o’clock for tracking a second time zone.
Inside is the automatic Chronoswiss Calibre C.6002, offering a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire caseback and features decorative details including radial Côtes de Genève finishing and a skeletonized rotor.
The Chronoswiss Pulse GMT Frosted Guilloché Gold carries a retail price of CHF 42,000.
