Chronoswiss Celebrates 30 Years Of The Opus With The Purple Rain Edition
Chronoswiss has unveiled the Opus Purple Rain, a striking limited edition released in 2025 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Opus collection. First introduced in 1995, the Opus was the world’s first serially produced self-winding skeletonised chronograph, a design that revealed the movement architecture on the dial side. Thirty years later, the latest edition continues this tradition, presenting the mechanical chronograph as both a functional instrument and a visual showcase.

Titanium Case with Vivid Finishing
The Opus Purple Rain is housed in a 41 mm Grade 5 titanium case, measuring 14.80 mm thick and offering 100 metres of water resistance. Its surfaces are enhanced with a vivid purple CVD coating, giving the watch its distinctive appearance. Chronoswiss’ recognizable design cues are present throughout, including the oversized onion crown, the knurled bezel, and the shortened lugs fitted with the patented Autobloc system. Curved sapphire crystals with double anti-reflective coating protect both the dial and the caseback, ensuring clear views of the openworked mechanics.

Skeletonised Dial Layout
The dial retains the classic Opus configuration, with small seconds positioned at nine o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter at twelve, a 12-hour counter at six, and a date display at three o’clock. To ensure the display remains legible despite its complexity, Chronoswiss combines galvanic black bridges with an ultraviolet CVD-coated framework, while rhodium-plated open-tipped hands and clearly printed scales provide strong contrast for timekeeping and chronograph functions.

The Calibre C.741S
Inside the case beats the Chronoswiss calibre C.741S, a fully skeletonised chronograph movement based on the ETA Valjoux 7750. The calibre operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 46-hour power reserve. Its finishing features galvanic black bridges decorated with perlage and a skeletonised rotor treated with a purple CVD coating and adorned with Côtes de Genève.

Strap, Availability & Price
Completing the watch is a white UV-reactive leather strap, which transforms into a vivid purple hue when exposed to sunlight. The Chronoswiss Opus Purple Rain is limited to just 30 pieces worldwide and is priced at €16,200.
