Christopher Ward Introduces Vibrant 38mm Twelve ‘Ice Cream Collection
That’s right, Christopher Ward with the new Twelve “Ice Cream Collection” has expanded its range of Sports-Chic watches with integrated bracelets with new vibrant colours and a new 38mm size.
And if the new collection, as the name suggests, points to the bathing season, its bright colours leave no doubt with the new Biel Berry in shades of blue, the Mint 38 in green, the Peach Sellita in red and finally the Made in Mangohead in yellow.
But perhaps the biggest news is the new case size made available by the brand, which joins the existing 40 and 36mm sizes, closing the gap between them and silencing all those who complained that the 40mm case was too big or the 36mm was too small, for now, fans will have to be content with this limited edition, the good news is a big chance that in the future the new size will also join the permanent collection.
The watches do not present any other new features, returning to a stainless steel case with a 12-sided bezel, which now has new dimensions of 38mm in diameter by 9.95mm in thickness which comes with a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the bevels, sapphire glass, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature and protected by screw-down guards, open case back and 100m water resistance.
The textured dial, like its siblings, comes with its multiplied logo producing a 3D effect where we find polished triangle hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a thin minute chapter ring next to the edges, a matching date window at 6 o’clock, the brand logo suspended at noon and the black “Automatic” inscription just above the aperture date.
Inside, the Sellita SW200-1 movement runs again, operating at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 38 hours of power reserve, which seems increasingly shorter these days and should be rethought by the brand for future editions.
The integrated steel bracelet now presents the improved clasp with micro-adjustments of the Twelve X (Ti) plus an extra rubber strap matching the dial shade.
As we already mentioned, it is a limited edition of 200 pieces in each colour that will be available today at 3 pm for the price of £1,095.
