Christopher Ward Introduces The Trident 30×30 In Support Of Ocean Conservation

Christopher Ward has unveiled the new Trident 30×30, a limited-edition dive watch created in partnership with the Blue Marine Foundation that combines the robust architecture of the C60 Trident Reef with the textured aesthetics of the C65 Dune Aeolian. Beyond introducing a fresh colourway inspired by marine life, the release also reinforces the brand’s long-standing commitment to ocean conservation.

A Partnership For Healthier Oceans

Christopher Ward has supported the Blue Marine Foundation since 2019, donating 2% of all Trident collection revenue to the organisation while also raising additional funds through dedicated collaborative editions. To date, the partnership has generated approximately GBP 750,000 for marine conservation projects.

The new Trident 30×30 takes its name from the global 30×30 initiative, an international effort aimed at protecting 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030. In keeping with the theme, GBP 30 from every watch sold will be donated to the Blue Marine Foundation. With production limited to 500 pieces, the initiative will contribute an additional GBP 15,000 once the edition sells out.

Inspired By The Ocean

The watch comes in a 41 mm stainless steel case with a sporty profile and a water resistance of 200 metres, making it fully capable of handling underwater adventures.

Its standout feature is the striking dial, which borrows the three-dimensional stamped pattern introduced on the C65 Dune Aeolian but replaces the dune-inspired texture with flowing waves that echo the Blue Marine Foundation’s logo. Finished in a vibrant “Parrot Fish Blue”, the dial captures the iridescent tones often found on tropical reef fish, offering a fresh and summery appearance.

The display is complemented by applied hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, while a bright red central seconds hand and matching “Automatic” inscription above 6 o’clock add a subtle but effective contrast. A date window positioned at 6 o’clock maintains the dial’s symmetry.

Reliable Automatic Movement

Powering the Trident 30×30 is the Sellita SW200-2 Power+, the latest evolution of the popular Swiss automatic calibre.

The movement offers an upgraded 65-hour power reserve, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and delivers an accuracy rating of -5/+12 seconds per day, representing an improvement over previous versions of the movement.

Instead of a display caseback, the watch features a solid screw-down caseback engraved with a dedicated Blue Marine Foundation 30×30 motif, while also displaying each watch’s individual number within the 500-piece limited edition.

Strap Options And Price

The Christopher Ward Trident 30×30 is available on either a white or blue Aquaflex rubber strap priced at GBP 895, or on the brand’s three-link Bader stainless steel bracelet for GBP 1,060.

To accompany the launch, Christopher Ward is also running an Instagram giveaway encouraging participants to share images of aquatic environments that are meaningful to them, helping raise awareness of marine conservation while offering the chance to win prizes.
